moving non-quantized notes by 1 beat

Hi,
If I've created some notes that aren't quantized and don't fall on a 1/16th grid (for example), is there a way to move these notes by 1 beat? All I could do was either move them and have them snap to the current grid, or free move them. Free moving doesn't work though because then I can't easily move them by exactly 1 beat.
I seem to recall that with Muzys we were able to create a custom groove grid, I'm not sure this is implemented in mu.lab, and even if it would work for what I'm interested in.
thanks!

Hi
I am probably the worst person to try to answer this as I over quantize everything as I use a lot of BPM sync ping pong delays etc and I need bang on beat stuff.
BUT
The List Editor can be used to move notes surgically by changing the "Time" value.
You could do this if you had a few notes to move but would be a pain if there were loads.
Hopefully someone can give a better answer than I.

Add a dummy note which is exactly on the grid (set grid snap to "beat"),
select all notes (including dummy) to be moved.
Then grab dummy note with mouse and move 1 beat --> all selected notes
are moved by one beat exactly. Delete the dummy note.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler!

I'd really like an absolute and relative mode toggle for moving musical data...

Thanks guys, the list editor would work and the dummy note is a great idea.

Eggu - Just tried it, a very neat workaround solution.
Go straight to the top of the class.

The beat-note idea is great!
You could also use the sequence function "Modify Times" to add n beats to all selected notes. Oops, just noticed that you cannot input negative times there i.e. for moving events earlier in time; will be fixed in M3. So you can only use "Modify Times" to move events forward.
