modulating lfo sound with the 2nd lfo

I have been trying to produce a certain effect with the lfo's
It would be best described as a vibrato already on the patch with the pitch wheel also being manually operated up and down. (like 2 independent vibratos) When I assign the 2nd lfo to modulate the first, they combine and produce a waveform that is the mathematical equivalent of the combination of the two.

What I want to hear is the pitch of the sound modulated as vibrato from the first lfo and the pitch of the entire vibrato waveform being modulated independently (like I do now with the pitch wheel) This is a hard one to explain and I hope someone will recognize what I am attempting to do.

There is probably an easy way to do this and I have listened to most of the presets in the hopes it was programmed by someone so I could look at the setting to see how it was accomplished. Any ideas? Yes I have the latest version, etc.

You generally hear this type of sound on a stab using pulse or saw waveform and a sound similar to this is played by Jane Child on her 80's hit: "Don't want to fall in love" On this clip the sound is at .33 and again at 1.23 (on an early Fairlight and strangely enough is also modulated by the pitch wheel by her as well... possibly the only way it can be done)

Hi Wascomat,basicaly if i understood it right you want to have an osc controlled by an LFO (vibrato) and you want the output (signal path) to be modulated by an second LFO right ,you are not refering to Frequency modulation right? You could do that in any synth that has 2 Lfo's:
LFO1»»»»»OSC1
LFO2»»»»»OSC1

vibrato inside another vibrato...

or you could use an vst processor fx to oscilate the pitch.

Yes, basically this is what I am trying to do but the expected result from assigning a lfo in Sylenth to modulate the other lfo produces a summation instead of separate individual vibratos.

I want the slower lfo to modulate the pitch of the oscillator as it is already modulated with a faster vibrato lfo so that it would simulate the manual pitch wheel vibrato when it is used with a patch that already has vibrato on it.

When this is attempted to be programmed on Sylenth, both vibratos combine to produce a sum/difference lfo frequency instead of staying as the first lfo vibrato untouched with the second lfo moving the entire pitch (1st lfo and all) exactly like slightly moving the pitch wheel as in the attached video.

What I want to do is assign the speed and intensity of the 2nd lfo to advance with the modulation wheel which is hard to do by using the pitch wheel in a manual way.

Now that I am thinking about it I am wondering if modulating the 2nd lfo with the 1st is the error on my part. I do not have my rig here at the moment but I am wondering if leaving them both as modulating the oscillator instead of one modulating the other would create the effect I am after?

Yes, I think what you want is to modulate the pitch of the osc by 2 independent lfo's. Just set Pitch as destination on both lfo's and set the Modwheel to modulate LFO2 Rate/Gain.
