Hi all,
Last week, we announced on the instruments forum about the upcoming features in SynthMaster 2.0:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=253647
After our announcement, some users expressed their concerns that using Challenge Response copy protection wouldn't help us protect SynthMaster, but rather make it unpopular. So, we ran a poll again on the instruments forum to see how the kvr community feels about Challenge Response vs Serial Number copy protection methods. Apparently, most are in favor of Serial Numbers, and hence we decided to go with Serial number protection, and abandon C/R altogether!
We know that there will be warez users, we cant escape from that. However, since we'd like to reward our decent paying customers, we will be adding features that only registered customers can access, such as:
1. Download latest product updates (i.e. version updates)
2. Downloading latest presets from our online library, made by the SynthMaster user community
3. Upload presets to our online library
4. Download latest skins from our online library
5. Upload skins to our online library
Cheers!
Bulent

I wanted to thank you again for this. Immediately after the decision I bought the synth, and am really very happy with it. And mind, this is version 1, and I am really curious what Synthmaster 2 will add to an already great synth.

As the demo is out now, I thought this needs a
bump!
In economically hard times to move away from c/r to serial is something that deserves a special mention
. But as I was happy to beta-test (not as much as the pros around here, to be sure) the v2 too I can tell you it will be worth checking out the demo!

Sorry for hijacking this topic a bit. I decided to help with some factory patch demos, and got my NFR license. Only problem is that SynthMaster doesn't connect the serial to my email I sent you. Please sort this out as soon as you can.

You mean online presets library? No we havent implemented that yet.djgroovy wrote:Hi, i just bought Synthmaster 2.
You mention the online user library, but that is not available yet is it?
It'll probably be on the form of a web page on our web site. I'd prefer to embed it on the plugin but many users dont like a plugin that connects to the network.

I just want to let you know that the Serial Number change made me purchase your synth.
Every single soft synth I own except Pianoteq is serial# based, (I am planning to get TruePianos, they too switched to Serial#).
BLUE did change to dongle but I was already a license owner so I could not walk away.
I write music for short documentaries and my studio is Portable (MuLab, energyXT).
I agree with your statement: eventually a unethical user will get in no matter what. At least you're making it easy for us. THANK YOU.
I am of course a new user and I will come back here to report on your wonderful synth.
Happy new year to you and to the rest of this forum users.
