I have no idea what is clashing, versus, what would be not-clashing.

against the drony pad, the percussive first notes which start happening (and subsequent entries later) could be characterized as 'flatter than you might expect, if you have 'n-set of expectations/requirements', which I don't have, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm someone who bothers to tune worse than The Dead on a given nite, so... Also, it's going to sound different on different transducers. The longer tones are basically detuned kind of sound anyway. You can go crazy caring about tuning, trust me.

very pleasant alternative to the classical music up my ass in the cafe I use for internet, so this is 'useful music'

I like the crunchy sounds with higher dietary fiber the best.

After listening a couple times, I don't think things are as out of tune as I originally though. When I started this, I tuned the bass and plucks to the drone-y pad, which is itself detuned slightly. When I brought in the e-piano, I thought that some of the chords accentuated the relative flatness of the synth parts. Now that I'm used to it, it's not so bad. There is one chord that I want to change though... where the progression goes up, I want it to go down (for lack of the proper music terms

).

I would agree that, they tend to 'accentuate the flatness of...'. Until they don't, like the next time you hear it or something, like you hear it on speakers which color some other 'spectra'.

It's a big gray area IME. I got to where, two nights ago, everything I listened to sounded out of tune, things I've cherished for years, I hear *error*.

Music 'round the clock? Not for the sane of mind or equal of temperament.

Us listeners have the advantage that we don't know what you think it should have sounded like. Therefore we can, in all innocence, enjoy it just as it is

Hey Justin, this is masterful stuff! You utilise some very strong ideas extremely well: the section at the start where the beat kicks in and the plucked melody warbles in pitch - just perfect! Also, the section at about 3:30 where the beat changes rhythm and tempo completely is so fluid and works brilliantly. This really reminds me of classic ToyTronic records releases from about 10 years ago. I absolutely love that style of electronica, Gimmik is one of the all time greatest musical projects in my opinion. I'm gonna have to hunt down more of your stuff, thanks man.
