Thank for the insights, info and stuff -Oh yes and the Verb :!:
Happy new year!

I've demoed it and I've never heard such a colourful and professional sounding algorithmic reverb. I love the large UI with my 1900 screen resolution and the presets are wonderfully designed and presented.

The main reason to buy Aether is not for the name but because it's the best
sounding software reverb on the market.
With the upcoming update to v1.5 it will be even better and still nowhere
near as expensive as the Lexicon.
Don't buy for the name.
Buy for the sound.

Yes, it's sort of an odd argument to suggest that people buy Aether "for the name"... It's flattering to think our (close to zero dollar budget) grass-roots marketing campaign worked this well, :o but I fail to see how the 2CAudio company brand, or the Aether product brand, is as much of a Name as something like "Lexicon" who has been in business for 20-30 years or more(??), and lead the market in this area for most of that time. It would be a minor miracle if that were true already IMHO.

Of course that does not mean we aren't trying to get to that point! :D Of course we want to build our brand name as much as possible, but at this point I think people buy our products b/c they like them and think they perform well at their functions, not b/c we have hypnotized anyone with our 12-month old brand-name.

Check back in 5-10 years though, and then I hope that this criticism may be more valid. :D But even then, I hope that the brand would simply become a symbol that denotes a certain dedication to detail and quality based on a track record of awesome products, as should be the case with any strong brand-name...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are there any plate presets or good vocal presets for rock/pop or is this more of a rooom simulator?

Both. There are plenty of presets. You have to understand that this is truly an algorithmic reverb that offers so many options. At first glance, it doesn't aim to emulate "historical" reverbs (although a few of the presets head in this general direction), but you can get them, if you want to.
Try the demo. Try the presets, then tweak them a little to get a feeling for the many options available to you.

If Aether has acquired a "name", it's only on KVR.

Holy S**t! We did not know that!!

Wow! What an honor!

When was this posted?

Congratulations!

Definitely a deserved honor!

2009 was a great year and although I have a pretty solid top 3 list, without a doubt Aether is still my favorite purchase of the year.

Now I'm just looking forward to the 1.5 update (and thanks for making the update free)!! :)

Seems like the reverb was too costly to be grassroots. Audio-Damage has a grass roots vibe, so do a lot of companies, Uh-he, Sugar-Bytes, etc, but you would have to buy at least two or three products from these other companies to match the cost of Aether.

but I fail to see how the 2CAudio company brand, or the Aether product brand, is as much of a Name as something like "Lexicon"
I didn't say that. I probably was not clear. I was trying to say, "Lexicon verbs have been on a lot of legendary records. Every bedroom producer knows this, ergo, their plug ins are $1,000. That actually makes a lot of sense."

Check back in 5-10 years though, and then I hope that this criticism may be more valid.
I don't know if its valid or not, but your reverb and this reverb are very similar sounding to me.

You both have that, "watery, slippery," verb.. vibe.. Its good for some stuff, but I wouldn't turn to it for a slap back echo, which is, my fav, and also very cool sounding.

Anyways.. I hate to do this, I use your architecture wave forms all the time, and I enjoy em so much. As I said before, you would have had me at hello, for a $99 reverb... That would have been cool, grassroots..

Happy New Year to you as well, I wish you good luck, lots of sales and success with both your companies.

Cheers

Hey no problem. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else. It's a big world out there with lots of choices. If Aether is not a good fit for you for whatever reason, I hope you find something that is, and I hope that it inspires you to make great music and helps bring your production/engineering to the next level. Best wishes.

Glad you like the Architecture products. I'm about to release a massive update of the waveform collection soon too...
