Try using white noise straight into a BP filter , high res , short adsr 2 .

thanks for reply i m gonna try , i had good result for snares doing things like this . the most diffcult for me is to emulate tom from 808/909 drum machine, i have no idea how to make sound like that.

Here's what I've found so far with percussion patches in ACE:

Tone:

Get friendly with using 'Hertz' and 'Multiply' to generate tones - also patching +5v into the frequency mod socket of an oscillator to get even higher frequencies in Hertz/Multiply.

Get friendly with frequency or phase modulation in general. Loosely, if you're trying to match a membrane, use sine waves (LFOs have these, not oscillators); for something metallic richer waveforms that will generate pretty complex sidebands when modulated.

Get as friendly with white/pink noise. I don't think it's good to start with these but they will be critical.

Amplitude:

Snap mode is good. Fall/Rise on ADSR, and modulating Fall/Rise, is *essential* - use an ADSR to as modulation source here to get really quick envelopes, or velocity etc. to subtly vary the temporal impact of the sound.

Without MSEGs a good way to get some more complex curves from ADSR is to shorten the length of the input note to something precise - Live has a 'note length' module to do this, I'm not sure what other hosts have but something like 100-200ms works.

Use the multipliers to a) compose complex curves (e.g. from an ADSR and the ramp generator) and b) RM or AM on a signal to apply a complex curve to an output. There are really a lot of possibilities here, and it takes some experimentation to really figure out the multipliers.

Last night I stumbled on, if you shift+click and then use mousewheel while shift is still held on the ADSR controls, then let go of shift, in ACE you can get *really* fine control. It's weird and I'm not even sure it might not be some kind of mouse glitch vs. a feature (but if it's not, feature request!) This is *so* good for setting envelopes, especially placing a transient.

[e] Oh yeah, you may have to freeze very often :) I haven't quite worked out for myself how to do it, but I think a robust method for building a sampled kit should be possible. Basic patterns with 3 or 4 sounds is where I'm at right now.
