Yeah -- the SFZ+ by itself makes no noise whatsoever, until you load some sound fonts into it.jeff180 wrote:ok, got it installed and it does show up on the plugins list, but no sound. so, now i need to get some sounds right?

@jeff
SFZ+ is the name of a VST plugin... to get it just click the link I or dluther provided.
SFZ+ is a plugin that needs so called sound fonts to produce any sound. IT's like a sample player, you need samples to make these make any sounds too. You can imagine sample players like tape recorders with one tape containing the sound for each key you hit...
SGM180 is the name of a soundfont, a bank of samples for sound font sample players. There are other soundfonts too you might wish to check out. You have to load these files into the SFZ+ VST plugin.
Maybe that's better understandable now?
In general one problem with these computer music stuff is you have to compose and assemble the elements you need for yourself... be patient, you will understand some time.

ok, i've been working with it a bit and cant really seem to get the sfz+ to play any of the sound fonts i've downloaded. i'll keep trying and see if i cant provide more info about whats happening. also, i've run across an item from Behringer called a fcb1010 midi controller. i've heard this can be programmed to use as bass pedals. has anyone ever done this?
