Hello, i posted a few days ago and was a little disappointed be the lack of response from Sugar Bytes. Artillery definately has bugs, including clicks when enabling fx, as well the Pitcher distorts any sound that is sustained. I've tested on mac and pc and have the same results. I'm not trying to be negative, i think Artillery is awesome, but it needs some work, and the lack of support from the company an the forum here doesn't make me too hopeful for a fix anytime soon.......

Sorry for being late.
Which effects do you think click when activated ?
Did you try to adjust the attack time for the drywet envelope ?

Do you have a sound example ? I'd like to hear what you mean.the Pitcher distorts any sound that is sustained

hello Robert, thanx for getting back to me. Here is a link with two examples, one using the vowel filter, chorus, timestretch, and pitch - the other just pitch to show the distortion.
All effects have the envelope attack and release set to fade in and out. You can distinctly hear the clicks when the fx are enabled and disabled, as well the pitch example you can hear it distort, especially on the decay of the chord.
This is on Pro Tools 8\OSX, aw well I've tested on XP with ableton and got the same results.
Hope to hear from you soon - tx - greg

Hi gwok,
in the first example i can hear 3 clicks first on 0:06 , 0:12 and on 0:21.
But i don't know(hear) which effects start/end there.
How long is your attack time ? Does the clicks disappear if you use very long times ? Do you have a subbass in your sound ? Do the clicks always sound the same ? Maybe it helps me if you send me the original wave. Or even better the Ableton project.
For the pitch example i think the distortion can't be avoided. Note that our pitchchifter is a compromise between quality and the possibility to use it in realtime. Because we can't preanalyze the incoming audio it's technically impossible to get results like in melodyne. We use a grain technique which can result in this fluttering sound.
Best,
Robert

listening at high volumes or headphones, there is at least 15 clicks. They happen With all effects, be it granular or modulation etc etc. Sorry i should have posted to original wave too, I dont have the original file for you now - anyway the results can be replicated in about 2 minutes with any sustained synth sound -
btw, the clicks example was rotating through the 4 mentioned effects - regardless though, any effect cause these clicks - the envelopes DO NOT help,
the pitch is understandable -
thanx again

I'll investigate this issue as soon as possible.
Please write me if there is anything special about the sounds you used or your system.
I guess you used the latest update.
Best,
Robert

Just want to let you know that i found the reasons for the problems.
Unfortunatly it's not easy to fix, but because this is a serious issue we'll definatly do an update as soon as possible. I can't give you a date but i expect an update within 2 month.

Great, I'm glad i brought this to your attention, and is going to be resolved. I'm a little diisapointed that it's goin to take up to two months to see a fix. I appreciate that you guys are busy, though 3 weeks-ish would make it usable this winter not next spring. Just being hopeful, like I said, I'm very happy this is being resolved, though do encourage a fix as early as possible. I'll definatly be posted occasionally to see what the eta is on the release.
thanks again!

hi thegrammatron,
i am aware of this problem.
Unfortunatly there is not much we can do about.
Changing tempo is a heavy task since all tempo related calculations have to be done immedatly. With a lot fx this will naturally result in a cpu hit.
Maybe there is some room for optimization in certain fx's.
Do you have the feeling that certain fx will hit the cpu more then other ?
Or a general qustion how many fx are loaded (in all instance) when you run into cpu trouble ?
Maybe it could be an option to delay these calculations for the efects until the fx gets activated, i'll have look.

Very well!
I spotted the problem and fixed it.
We also fixed some BPM change problems and even implemented some new modulation features.
If all goes well i can send you a prerelease version in some hours.
The official update will come next week i think.
Best,
Robert
