The internet age is lost on Apple, it seems.

How so?

Kind regards.

Because they typically make thousands of people turn up in a building to make a product announcement. See previous quotes.

I don't recall Apple launching something at NAMM this year. And they pulled out of MacWorld Expo after last year's show (which probably wasn't an entirely sensible move). So what are you talking about?

Things like this; turning product announcements into rockstar-like performances...

It was a tongue-in-cheek remark as a reaction to the "I'd be surprised if there were any. Waiting for a couple thousand people to show up in one building to announce a product is ridiculous in the internet age." quote.

No need to get so anal and defensive about it when someone dares to use the A-word without due praise and respect.

Who's getting defensive: I couldn't see the connection to NAMM or to exhibitions in general. Plus, Apple is hardly the only company to hold press conferences.

But as you were just trolling I guess there was nothing to see here. Move along please.

Here's another interesting bit-
I just got a Toontrack email announcing their presence at NAMM and in it they mention previewing the new Jazz SD-X. I'd heard rumors they had recorded the Jazz sessions for Superior as well as EZ.

The thing that really annoyed me is that Eigenlabs released their "Tau" model halfway between the Pico and the alpha, and at right about the price that I paid for my Ztar (which is still being built - and will be with me soon I hope!)

Though the ztar feels like it will be much more similar to a guitar (given the six "strings" and ability to strum etc) - it would be nice to have notes that I could vibrato easily!

Couldn't they have released this with the original models so I could have considered it then?????? instead of releasing a 600dollar and a 6000 dollar model!!!

ARRGH!

My expectations for namm this year were low, so I'm not surprised. The only thing I was longing for was a Eventide Verbfactor, but that's not going to happen, for now anyway.... The Nord Piano looks cool though....

Of course...Appleheads are functionally nuts about anything the company trots out, so the company feeds them stuff in the showiest way possible each year. Nobody else cares.

Nobody else cares? Which planet do you come from?

Have you any idea how much influence Apple has on technology trends?
We're talking one of the most influencial and powerful companies in the business.

Other than Apple's portable players, they are lower in market share in every product category, including the overrated iPhone. That's the reality on planet earth.

Overall marked share doesnt prove anything.
