Problem with speed of audio sample

Hi,
I have just downloaded the free version to see how I get on with it and have one (probably stupid) question.
When I import a wav sample into a track and play it, it sounds very very sped up(when previewing the sample before importing it plays at normal speed). Changing the tempo for the composition makes no difference.
What am I doing wrong?
Si

Ok.
About the pitching issue:
When you add an audio file to the composition, it is played at the sample rate of your audio card. You can see that samplerate in Main menu -> Edit -> Audio Setup.
If an audio file is recorded at another samplerate, then it will sound at lower/higher pitch. Then you'll have to resample the audio file using an external tool.
But note that this is only for streaming audio files.
If you want to play with samples, and play them on the keyboard at different pitches, then use Main menu -> File -> Add A Sample. Or plug in a "Sampla" in a Rack. The "Sampla" patch is at Synths->MuSynth->Templates->Sampla.
Hope this helps

snootles, is this happening in Sampla?
Sampla has a way of deciding what the root note of a sample should be when its title contains certain combinations of letters and numbers, (for instance 'Piccolo_Snare3.wav' plays at the normal pitch at E3.)
It's probably something that needs some finetuning.
You can set the root note of a sample by right-clicking on its waveform, then going to 'properties' and set it to 'none'.
If this is about an audio track I wouldn't know.

yes, i would also like to see this finetuned. it's a clever little method that can indeed be useful sometimes, but most of the time it messes up my vocal cuts and such, which then have to be manually reset to 'root key = none'.Bonteburg wrote:snootles, is this happening in Sampla?

perhaps the auto-root function could be switchable on/off in the add new sample dialog?

Maybe something goes wrong between ASIO4ALL and your onboard sound device?
I have nothing on file here that would point to a problem in MU.LAB's ASIO engine.

What do you play on these tracks? Audio or MIDI?synthyboy wrote:as I said I plays with buffer size till 1000 - 2000, still hear snaps, mutools wrote:Try to increase the ASIO buffer size.

If MIDI hown many voices / polyphones are in use in total?
Note that i could overload my CPU is i only play 3 tracks but with each e.g.
30 'fat' voices. Voice count can increase fast when using longer release times. What i mean is: It's not the number of tracks that count, the number and complexity of the synth voices are more relevant.
What does MU.LAB's CPU indicator say?
