I really dont uderstand why you guys are so reticent to give us information about this upgrade.VFXAU wrote:
A DREAM?? well if any of you happened to be at the NAMM SHOW, we showed it there, in a normal V-Machine, as an upgrade working perfectly. So it is no dream
What are you waiting for?

But this trhead is becoming too long and it's not usuful to read it; IMHO it can be used just to check some news (like the cpu upgrade).
For other stuff try to post in the forum, Im pretty sure someone will reply!

Great report, I am floored you were able to use MiniMogue + Superwave P8 in parallel, I use both ! Hmm, goes to show you this V-Machine can be used for a lot of things, also Roel's excellent beta piano for the V-Machine works great
I have a question for all of you: When I used it live I had a super hard time surfing through presets and it was so slow I just turned it off, any suggestions on how to set a bank of favorite plugin patches so I can QUICKLY hit a program change and pick from say: "Organized preset 1, to MiniMogue preset 10, to Piano patch 1" ??? Right now that is the only thing holding me from using it live, which I am so anxious todo, I have very powerful PCs(VST DAWs) in the studio so it has no use there...
Thanks in advance for any help or insights, I really love this little machine and everyone who comes into my studio loves it too !!

walerandei wrote:Finally formated my Windows based notebook ... and now VFX works really nice! Installed 15 pluggins without any crash or issue.
First impressions:
1 - V-machine sounds nice! The outputs sounds clear and without sssshhhh or low noises. My digital mixer is thankfull about this.
2 - At this time, I've made only a bank with one preset per pluggin (and one vsti in the first slot). At this point it works nice. Notice some noisy clicks only when use a lot of polifony in some fat pluggins.
3 - MIDI (5 pins), responds without latency.
4 - A little noisy the V-machine's cooler. This is an issue if you want to record something with a condenser microphone.
Tomorrow I'll try to mix some VSTi (light ones) in different slots with different midi channels!
EDIT:
I've made some mixes beetwen some lights vstis, and these are the results!
1 - SLOT1= Imposcar / SLOT2=Oddity / SLOT3=Iblit (all sounding together).
V-machine works fine. Only when use a delay in an Imposcar preset, there were some noisy clicks using more than 4 voices of polifoni.
2 - Slot=1 SUperwave p8 / Slot2= Minimogue VA (both sounding together).
No issues reported.
3 - If I try to use some sampled based pluggin or a piano ... its imposible to use more than one pluggin.
Best regards.

I dont see any change in the other forum.
I've posted some messages and nothing happens ...
¿Are we few members?
BTW ... The "SM PRO AUDIO" responds me about the UPGRADE KIT.
They told me that when NAMM ends; They'll concentrate in start with the production process of the "upgrade kit" (probably do some final check and test before - but in NAMM the UPGRADE seems to respond very well - ). So, they still cant talk about time and price.
Soon they'll publish the good news (dont expect to be tomorrow, of course).
I believe it isnt a dream. It is real. But it needs a little more time
Who knows, may be in a month or two!

Hi delafuente; Just curious about this forum, is it moderated by anyone at SmProAudio ?? Is this where they are posting replies ?

I don't think it's actually moderated by anyone from SMPA, although a user called VFXSUPPORT dus post there... very occasionally. Don't expect to get any more answers from them there than you would here.AzureCrystal wrote:Hi delafuente; Just curious about this forum, is it moderated by anyone at SmProAudio ?? It's still a good initiative though as it gives users the chance to communicate in a more direct way than here.
Personally I think VFX/V-Machine support in general ranks amongst the worst i've ever experienced. I sent an email about not being able to launch the beta software to the email-address for the beta weeks ago and I haven't had a reply yet. As for the helpserve support site, the answer I recieved through there to an issue I was (and still am) having was to install the beta, but when I replied that I couldn't get it to launch the reply was that they didn't offer support for beta software. So once again, a Big Fat Nothing.

Thanks Mike; Personally my experience with SmPro has been fine so far, I have always gotten a reply for my issues in a day or two max, and maybe I am lucky.
To SmPro's defense, being the owner of a small technology company I understand how difficult it can get to follow up with what potentially could be hundreds of emails, and given they are probably all wrapped up in NAMM right now, I doubt we will hear much from them until a week or two after they get back !
Case in point, I recently attended LegalTech with my guys in New York City, and that week went by with our company not replying to any emails, there were too many distractions, when we weren't enjoying the city night life, we spent our nights preparing for the next day and discussing strategies, and ultimately, only one of us had their own separate cell based internet service, the hotel at the convention where we were staying had astronomical internet rates so we opted not to use it in the rooms, only for the convention floor. Bottom line, although we thought we could stay in touch with our clients during the week we were there, it didn't happen and we offer what many consider as top notch tech support to our clients.
IMHO, they are trying the best they can, my interaction with their staff has always been great and they go beyond the call of duty, I doubt most companies would EVER offer a cpu upgrade or even care much to support legacy technology, that the SMP marketing dept. may have sold the V-Machine as something it was not is another issue, or that the product was launched before it had wider VST support would be things I look at, but they have to survive and if they go under it will be worse in the long run for us.

No, the forum it's moderated by a user that made it probably tired about this long thread; yes, VFXSUPPORT is a member of SMPRO and sometimes post some (few) replies.AzureCrystal wrote:Hi delafuente; Just curious about this forum, is it moderated by anyone at SmProAudio ?? Forum looks good, I definitely prefer these PHPBB type forums like yours as they can be split into many subtopics, but alas, I am unconditionally, totally hooked on KVR ;-}
I personally would not put up this type of forum without the permission or "blessing" of the manufacturer, at minimum you should have that SmPro logo link to their site ??

Atmosphere is a "Rompler", samples player, probably not too CPU intensive, the issue might be storage, would be a cool thing to try out !!
