Good day everyone,
I'm trying to synchronize a number of things together, and I realise I may be asking a bit too much for the software, but I need to know if what I am trying to do is actually possible with Mu Lab.
I have Mu Lab set to rewire master, with Renoise set to rewire slave. I have a Tenori-On synched to Renoise as a midi-clock slave. This all works quite well thus far.
However: within renoise, it is impossible to set a different midi-input/channel per instrument. The way the Tenori-On works, is that each track or 'layer' is hardwired to a a specific midi channel (layers 1 through 16 represent midi channel 1 through 16). So I have to send the data into Mu Labs in order to control more than one instrument at a time.
Basically I want to use Renoise as my main sequencer, with the Tenori-On as a secondary sequencer. I want to have Mu Labs handle all the incoming audio, _as well_ as the midi data coming out of Renoise and the Tenori-On. I am using Midi Yoke to send midi data out of renoise into Mu Labs.
I have been unable to get Mu Labs to respond properly to incoming midi data on multiple channels thus far. My best attempts have resulted in all of the midi data being lumped into just one channel, I want to have seperate midi channels/midi outputs controlling seperate VST instruments.
[Edit]I should mention I have not yet even been able to get just Renoise or the Tenori-on by themselves to control seperate instruments within Mu Lab.
Am I missing something here...is this kind of setup possible with Mu Lab?
Thanks in advance!

A quick and hopefully useful tip:
Please check out MU.LAB -> mian menu -> Edit -> Edit MIDI Input Targets
With this dialog panel you can tell MU.LAB that incoming chan 1 must play target X, chan 2 plays target Y etc...
Does this help?

It does! At least I've got the Tenori-on controlling different instruments, which is great.mutools wrote:A quick and hopefully useful tip:

I'm going to do a number of tests tonite, and will quite likely be reporting back in this thread with some more questions.
Thanks for the speedy response!
