Downloaded the new one a second time, but same issue.

=> Upload error?
I got an error message, as well.

It was just while unzipping "Rock Pack.zip" (new pack) - the message said:
"Power Chords E - long.wav .. File is corrupt".

However, all the other .wav files appear intact, and seem to work ok in MultiSampla (I've only had a very quick play), apart from that low E being absent in Power Chords.

Checked and you're right, something went wrong, now I upload it again.
HERE's the new one.
I'll edit also the first post and previous one, to have the right link. Checked twice the package and the download, now works fine.

Downloaded again, fine now :)

This is a nice sample pack sorohanro!

The next MU.LAB version has improved support for 'extern' sample packs, as you'll see soon.

From MU.LAB test 3.0.12 on, you can easily 'install' preset packs into MU.LAB:

1) Unzip the preset pack somewhere on your computer
2) In MU.LAB, open a MuSynth or MUX play editor
3) Drag and drop the preset pack folder onto the MuSynth/MUX play editor

From now on this preset pack is fully integrated in the preset lists.

Lets make presets! :)

This works very well for me (M-3-14).
It's so quick and easy that it feels like magic !

I definitely feel the urge to create one or two additional presets. Unfortunately, I'm only just getting into it - starting by using the MultSampla editor to have a closer look behind the scenes at your 'Stand-In Piano' and Sorohanro's 'Muted Trumpets'. Hopefully I'll get the hang of things soon !

In the "MULAB\Library\MuSynth\Presets" folder I noticed the 3 additional empty folders (Keys, Leads, and Misc) - obviously for future use.

Just for fun, I created a fourth folder, calling it "User-Created".
Inside it, I made a folder named "Sorohanro's Muted Trumpet", and into that I put the file "Muted Tumpet.MuSynth" , together with the 'Samples' folder containing his trumpet samples.

So, when I open MULAB, and add a MultiSampla device, and then open it's editor, I can quickly expand the 'Presets' list and see my 'User-Created' folder (containing Muted Trumpet, etc).

I could add other user-made presets there, as an alternative to dragging-and-dropping onto the editor, with the benefit that the menu then just contains the basic 2 headings (Devices, and Presets), ie uncluttered.

The downside: Well, for each new version of MULAB, I may need to copy my 'User-Presets' folder accross into the main Presets folder.

Anyway, I'll leave it in place for now. After all, I do need somewhere to store those additional presets that MULAB users may hopefully be creating and sharing !

It's not really a recommended way of doing things, indeed for the disadvantage you noted yourself. In fact i added the 'Library Folders' feature just to bypass this.

Why not put the 3rd part presets in a separate folder outside the Mulab folder, so that you can easily keep it even when installing new Mulabs.
And when copying the setting files from a previous Mulab to a new one, everything will still work. Hope you see what i mean.

You're right, of course !

I've moved my 'User-created presets' folder outside of MULAB, and added a reference in the "LibraryFolders.txt" file, and it works fine. Thanks for the elegant solution !

In my funny way, I guess I was stumbling toward the idea of maybe having something in the 'Settings' folder - only to find that you had just implemented it !
Having read through all of the 'Fixed' and 'Tuned' items in the recent 'changes' log, I somehow completely missed the 'New' stuff about Library Folders, etc.
Sorry about that - I think I need a couple of early nights !

I think that the new managing system for samples and patches is a work of art !

I know, I know... what's not to like :D

Anyway, I would like to hear what users might do with the "Rock Pack", so feel free to post here or PM me when you put up some tracks with those samples :)
For now I made just two tracks using those:
Sweet Dreams - cover
Full Moon Rising

Cheers.
Drums and bass and other stuff after 2~3 weeks, after we finish with Eurovision madness (I'm in 2 bands participating there)...

Hi sorohanro

Was that a recording of "Real drums and drummer" on the two tracks you made or a drum VSTi?

If it was a drum VSTi what was it?

It is getting hard these days to tell the two apart "Real drums and drummer" or a drum VSTi.

I think it was Drum Core 3 the free version.
You'll need a download manager to get it, it's big.
Also from time to time I use Addictive Drums free (kick, snare and hi-hats), toms from Kontakt Player free (Pop Kit) and Yellow Tools Independence 2.5 free for cymbals (Acoustic kit 2 or 3).
All of those you can get for free :)

Hi sorohanro

Thanks for that.

Drum VSTi are indeed very realistic these days.

I went to see "The Police" in Birmingham UK on their last world tour after they reunited.

Stewart Copeland was just amazing on drums.

I am glad that we can use drum VSTi to create realistic drum tracks. I can play the drums a bit but I am no Stewart Copeland.

Good luck with Eurovision.

Actually you can link a electronic kit to VSTi drums and play.
