I have seen ridiculous threads on kvr before but this one must rank up there with them....jeez.

no I have my opinion and will state it.
if you don't want dissenters have the conversation with your family and loved ones not on a forum such like this.

Amen brother. I can't believe I just read through this entire thread.... :(

I think you are being ridiculous... you know why? Cause a number of people have pointed out how you can get Zebra for LESS than $199 (including tax) and rather than go do that, you continue to complain and have not once acknowledged this fact.

You can only claim back VAT on items that you have paid for as part of your own (business related) expenses. The VAT charged on sales goes to the government, and cannot be claimed back.
It's clear LeVzi doesn't understand VAT. I'm in the US, were to date there is no such thing, and even I have a better understanding.

I give up, I wasn't complaining at the price, I was annoyed that what I thought was going to cost me something was infact 27 quid more. Which put it out of reach.

Thats all, I aint interested in how VAT works. There should be a notice on not just this site, but all sites if sales tax is included or not.

Well I haven't acknowledged it as I do not qualify. I do not have any old hardware lying around. Nor would I have a clue how to "knock something up" to that effect, so you tell me how that is ridiculous ? And like I said, I never complained of Zebra's pricing, just that it cost more than I was expecting and the big $199 on the page is misleading.

but in one click you found out that it wasn't included.
If you had to enter your cc or paypal info, your name, address etc and as you are about to hit the final button for the transaction to go through you found out that vat had myseteriously been added, then I would see your side, but in less than 5 seconds you found out that you could no longer afford it... I guess to satisfy everyone, although I really still think it is unnecessary, that urs add +VAT where applicable.....

You don't have to own any "old gear" qualify for the Dinosaur Crossgrade....with a minimal amount of effort almost anyone could qualitfy....someone could explain this to you if you'd quit ranting about the VAT.

+10000... We've only been going on about this because we sincerely would like you to own this. You'll be happier person once you see the beauty of owing it! :borg: Resistance is futile.

But again, you don't need to actually own any "old gear"

Really the best approach is dropping a line to Urs and asking what you can do to qualify for the crossgrade price. I'm sure the two of you can work something out.

You'll be very happy once you have. 8)

The dinosaur crossgrade is easy... if you simply said, hey, thanks for pointing that out, it is great that I can get Zebra for even less than I thought with minimal effort on my part, can someone help me out the thread would have happily ended on page 2 or so...

I don't deny that I am keen to get Zebra, I use ZebraCM a fair bit, obviously my signature is my main synth for most things, but I decided to treat myself to something a bit different for maybe a new take on what I do. I was disappointed I couldnt get it and made the point, all be it, I probably didn't come across properly, and it got into a big discussion about VAT.

So you could afford £128.61, but adding VAT (making the price £153.21) has put it "out of reach"? Couldn't you just wait until you have the extra £26? It's not that much ...
