Hi Kevin,
I've read on the site that MuseBox comes pre-loaded...what exactly is already installed on the box?

Unfortunately it has not been determined yet what we will pre-install on the muse box, but there will likely be something for everyone....Sampled Drums, Keyboards, Guitar Effects, and synthesizers.

I suggest that you could provide different configurations...one for drummer, one for guitar players, etc.Kevin@MuseResearch wrote:Unfortunately it has not been determined yet what we will pre-install on the muse box, but there will likely be something for everyone....Sampled Drums, Keyboards, Guitar Effects, and synthesizers.
For example I wouldn't be interested in sampled drums or Guitar Effects.
What do u think about it?

if uploading freebies to the musebox isnt user friendly, this device looses my interest instantly.jcsquire1 wrote: So although it is designed to allow you to try to upload your own plugins, they're shipping it with included sounds and effects, and are probably not going to make many promises about what VSTi's will run on it until they try them out themselves.
also i dont want to pay (indirectly) for any preinstalled plugins.
as i see it the hardware plugin player devs are too defensive. of course its bad if 50% of the customers want to run NI massive and its hard to make NI's licence system work.
imho, a hardware plugin player should take another route. make a device that is price-wise a clear alternative to a laptop and design the OS for running easy to licence or freeware plugs only. if such a plugin player sells well, NI+Co. will knock on the door soon!

Things have been quiet about Musebox for a long time. Last I heard was in January when I think Rick was guessing a roughly 6 month time frame to release. Any word, guys?

It just seems they have taken the same way SmPro took with V-Machine!!!jcsquire1 wrote:Things have been quiet about Musebox for a long time. Last I heard was in January when I think Rick was guessing a roughly 6 month time frame to release. Any word, guys?

Let's hope the musebox will be launched at Musikmesse.
I want to be able to use Camel's audio live without using a laptop.

I like the size of this module. I'm considering one of these.. But does this support MIDI plugins? A midi arpeggiator would be handy... actually.. in my cases it would be required.
