I really love the way that MULAB sounds when it mixes. The one thing I would love to see happen is to be able to record the output of a track like reaper does. it just help build a track faster for me.

Choose the track - mixdown - "Only mixdown selected parts?" - yes

Its ok like that but kills work flow.. especially three or 4 extra steps

The 4 extra steps are actually 2, choosing the track and click "mixdown".

In MuLab
Add VST,
Record MIDI Part
Mixdown Audio
Select what file to create
create new file
tell it to also create a new part or else it will just create a new file and you have to re-import back to Mu.
Then it creates a new track for every part mixed down. Huge wast of screen space.
In reaper you add a vst.
set it to record the audio output
click record and play your part
The track has recorded audio and not MIDI. You don't have to mixdown audio or have it put the part on a new track to see it.
So you see it be a bit of a drag to the work flow...

I can see how this could be a very liberating thing. I often find myself playing a synth and just hit mixdown without doing anything to it. It's kind of leaning towards your direct-to-disk scenario.
I'd be all for such a feature!

If it could record the MIDI and the audio, I'd be for it -- just in case I a little off and it needs a tiny fix...
