John,

We don't have any official support for 64 Bit windows OS, so it could be anything. I'd be curious to know details about how Uniwire is broken.

Have you tried running Cubase as administrator? Right click when you run.

You could try 4 /5 things ..

1) Run the 32 bit version of Cubase (use jBridge for the occasional 64 bit vsti/vst plugins in cubase)
2) Run the uniwire plugin in cubase x64 application within jBridge as host
3) Try to wrap the uniwire plugin within another host like energy XT vst plugin
4) Skip uniwire and use midi, and spdiff and/or adat for the audio (quick and easy solution)
5) Use XP x64 as operating system (I found it to be more solid and stable) with the same tricks/tips as mentioned 1,2,3,4 (most drastic solution)

Let us know if any of these suggestions gives you any luck.

I suspect the main problem is the buggy vstbridge from steinberg .. 32 bit vst plugins needs to be converted to the 64 bit host application. N.B. you can run cubase 32 bit version on your system (as stated in point 1).
And also check if your receptor is accesseble through your network connection/router/crosscable etc etc troubleshooting.
