Hi there,

I've just ordered Receptor 2, so I'm newbie in this forum.

I know that Kontakt 4 will run with Receptor, but does all the Kontakt 4 based virtual instruments work in Receptor aswell? I've been looking for the new Alicia's Keys and also the NI upright piano...

thanks,

No, Kontakt 4 has not yet been "receptorised" Only K3.5 has been given the OK. Apparently it is getting close though and they are working on it now.
We are all hoping the wait will not be too long..

We actually are shipping RECEPTORs with KOMPLETE 6 pre-installed. We are working on the individual component installers.

Thanks guys,

My point actually was, that if Kontakt works (3.5 for sure), would all virtual instruments that runs in Kontakt work ok? Meaning Scarbees and Alicia's Keys, Upright Piano and so on...

Additional question: does the free Kontakt PLAYER work on Receptor?

I wish there was a simple answer to this. There are a lot of versions of Kontakt player, and depending on the version or the player, the version of your Receptor, and the Service Center requirements, they will run on Receptor. Not all versions of Kontakt player will work on a Rev C however, mostly because of Service Center issues.

All versions of Kontakt player that I know of can be made to work on the RECEPTOR 2 models, but the problem there is getting all the libraries installed. We have determined that not all libraries are properly recognized by the Kontakt player engine (depending on the version) and that is something we are trying to get sorted out... Apparently this is not unique to Receptor as some developers have reported issues in the PC and Mac world as well.

That being said, when we release a direct installable Kontakt player library, like LASS or Evolve or any of the ones we've done recently, we have tested it on RECEPTOR 2 and they work fine.

We haven't received our Scarbee stuff from NI yet, but I know personally that the older Scarbee library stuff that was Kontakt 3 based worked fine on Receptor, so I would imagine that the new stuff would as well. We are currently getting all the Vir2 stuff sorted out for Receptor, and once that is done we will be able to get the installer stuff done on the newer libraries that are coming out for Kontakt.

Hope that helps.
