Do you know that (with some care) you can use the EMM and LeSax Soundsets
in EVE?!
yes, Knagalis and LeSax are monophonic by design reasons you know,
but if you bought EVE too you can import their SoundSets (samples)
in "EVE Data" folder
and play them poly with all other EVE sounds and FXs!
example: in "Knagalis EMM Data" folder look for "08-Mbira3" folder,
inside you find Mains.DASHsnd, copy this.
Now in "EVE Data" folder create a new folder and name it "Ethnic",
then paste Mains.DASHsnd into, now rename Mains.DASHsnd to Mbira.DASHsnd
So next time you load EVE you will find "Ethnic" in the SoundSets Menu
and Mbira sound ready to load.
To make it easy ( and for all EVE users )
already I prepared for you the "Ethnic" folder with 3 renamed SoundSets:
http://dashsignature.com/download/Ethnic.rar
unrar with the foder, and copy the "Ethnic" folder inside your "EVE Data" folder,
now when you load EVE you will find "Ethnic" in the SoundSets Menu
for each oscillator A, B and C,
currently in Ethnic Library:
Flute, (from TubiLeSax)
Mbira, (from Knagalis)
Salterium, (from Knagalis)
please share some presets for EVE made with these soundSets,
I'll made some too next days, but I wanna see yours first, <grin>
enjoy!

Hey Liqih -
All the DASH instruments that use .DASHsnd files should be updated to allow for a 'set global DASHsnd directory' function.
This way I can keep all the soundsets in one place, and not have to worry about having to keep 2 copies of the EMM Knagalis data, i.e. one set for EVE, one set for EMM Knagalis.
Also... weren't you guys going to release a tool to create our own DASHSnd files?
And... can EMM Knagalis users use the EVE sound files in Knaglis along with, for example, one of the sympathetic drone sounds?
Thanks....

sorry that's not possible, since Knagalis and LeSaxLaserguided wrote:Hey Liqih -

use special designed SoundSets which are not all suitable EVE even though compatible as format,
what you ask would need a major upgrade of Knagalis and LeSax to work in a different way with samples,
that's not planned so far
yes William is on that, let's hope, <grin>Also... weren't you guys going to release a tool to create our own DASHSnd files?
yes it can read them, you can experiment, just mind the special names EMM and LeSax uses forAnd... can EMM Knagalis users use the EVE sound files in Knaglis along with, for example, one of the sympathetic drone sounds?
soundsets, otherwise they may refuse to load them

oh yeah, it's super fun to use micromono+seq along with ioplong slifty. Just those 2 instruments alone and you have instant mute records smarty-pants techno....

Boy, am I glad that I picked up Eve.
It sounds geat, is easy on CPU, the KVR price was great - and now, I find out that I can use some additional soundsets thanks to this tip!
Wow...
Thanks guys - Eve (and DashSignature) should be getting better pub than it does...
All the best,

Eve is really exceptional. Many sounds which meet exactly my taste. And the upgrade price is unbelievable.
William and liqih, what do you live from?
