Actually Mac, having heard your OSC13 submission, I'm surprised that you're so down on S1. One of the things I really liked about your track (and there was plenty to like about it - deserves to be a bit further up the rankings, 'IMO' of course  ) was the range of timbres, the clarity and the overall lushness that you got out of S1.

:o Well, thanks :) However, my point is that it was just a pain to work with it... If I come up with a nice sound with a synth, I don't have to worry about which octave I'll be using on, with S1 I do, as it sounds good on a certain octave, then you just go up 12 keys and an irritating, unwanted and unfilterable frequency creeps in, just to give an example of the many I could give. I had to do everything within its many limits, hiding under a veneer of powerful and versatile synth :(

I found a top toy for y'all PC users to test: Buzzic.

It is a low cpu sequencer that is designed for the demo scene. Still it is a hell a lot of fun to work with.

I wish the synth would be chosen already. After tomorrow I won't have any internet for a month.

Ouch... I was without for nearly a week and I almost died... :( One month... ouch... :(

Is it Lent or something, i.e. some sort of self-flagellating masochistic religious thing? :smack:

 Just my neighbor who I'm sharing it with is leaving and it's connected to his room. And I'll leave a month later so I won't get any new connection.

If it helps... I'm starting to lean towards StringZ + maybe some drum samples for drum-lovers. Sorry for late response, I've been not around KVR forum for a few days...

Post

Ok, thanks. There is StringZ 2 also if you already didn't know.

Ah... I'm sorry, I meant Stringz 2 :) I'm not sure if I even have a copy of older StringZ 1

*bump*

And the synth will be  :clown: *tada* StringZ 2 http://krakli.com/krakli-free-synths/
Tattiemannie suggested no additional samples for drums, and I'm ok with that.
What do you guys think about it?

Yeah! krakli is very good stuff! Good choice :tu:

Is there a list of already used synths in OSC competitions? I don't want to suggest things and get wasted from hundreds angry guys.
Im new on this :)

Surfingo, if you click on the 4shared link in my sig below, you can download a textfile which has all the links to previous OSC threads, and the previous comp tracks folder ... I keep it updayed, so you will see which synths we have used from the links on that text file. :)
