Receptor Shutdown

I recently bought a used Receptor that has been upgraded to a Receptor 2 Pro. I really like it, but I'm having the following problem:
I frequently have to force my Receptor to turn off after using it and editing on it for awhile. It starts the shutdown procedure, then gets stuck somewhere and won't shut all the way down. So I force it by holding the power button down until it turns off.
It has always started up fine later. After it got stuck tonight and I forced it to turn off, I started it again a few minutes later, played a few notes through it, and it shut down fine.
Is that stuff anything to worry about, or is it normal behavior and it won't hurt anything? I have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse plugged directly into the back of the Receptor, so I don't know if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any ideas!

Mychal,
We've seen this happen before with Receptor 2, and in most cases it appears to be related to the presence of USB devices plugged directly into the Receptor's USB ports. If you have a mouse or keyboard plugged directly in try removing it and then doing the shutdown. Other than that it could be related to a plug-in that is not terminating correctly, so I would try turning off z-load feature (if it's running) or loadinga blank patch before shutdown to see if that resolves the issue.

One more question, this one regarding startup:
When I turn the power switch on, on the multiple AC power strip that the Receptor is plugged into, the Receptor goes into its startup procedure for about two seconds, then turns back off. When I push the power button on the Receptor, it starts up normally.
Is this normal? Or is this also a by-product of having the monitor, mouse, and keyboard plugged directly into the Receptor? Or possibly some other issue?
Thanks,
Mychal

Mychal,
This is actually part of how the intel mother board we have in Receptor 2 functions. It is perfectly normal for the Receptor to turn on for a couple seconds once it's plugged into a new power source (or in your case the power strip is turned on). This does not cause damage to the unit or reduce its lifespan...it's just related in some way to how the intel motherboard was built to function.

Cool. That's good to know.Kevin@MuseResearch wrote:It is perfectly normal for the Receptor to turn on for a couple seconds once it's plugged into a new power source
And regarding the stuck shutdown, so far loading a blank patch before shutting down has resolved that issue.
Thanks for the help!
Mychal
