Glad to hear that. Thanks to you, Mu.Lab is on a constant improving and your work is really amazing.
I do consider coloring modules/racks/ not the most important thing. I have my system to figure out fast, I put instrument racks on the left of "Master" and effect sends on the right.

Cleaner than that I just can't think of... but I said the same about M2.7 and Jo just proved me wrong  so... :tu:

A quick note.
Sometime ago I was chatting in some forum and some users had some remark on the MuLab mixer. They felt that it could be update in the sense of deign and not so much about the way it works which is very good.
Believe it or not this was one factor that they had problem with in moving to MuLab (a dumb reason IMO but still that's what they felt). This was like more that a year ago.

It is true that it takes more space than many other mixers if you need to keep some of the possible "many" Racks open.

For example one of the most less consuming Real Estate mixer is the one in FL Studio. Not the best but quite functional for the space it takes.

I really think that it is possible to improve the design to allow more Rack to coexist and still have MuLab clever design. I can see being narrowed down to half the size when collapsed and still be great.

Anyway, this is just a note/report.

Hmm. Switch the rack to windowed mode and move it off to a second monitor? I guess you could argue for even smaller collapsed mixer strips - there's some spare space, so they could get slimmer. Maybe you could argue for being able to float off individual mixer strips?

Err... bug report: right-click the mixer strip name shows "Replace" on the menu. That shouldn't be there. Looks like the menu may need a bit of a tidy over all.

That's all a matter of skinning. You can do this yourself if you want, so including making the racks smaller/bigger.
Maybe you could argue for being able to float off individual mixer strips?
That's also possible. E.g. double-click on a track header that targets a rack.

Where is that? Can you eventually post/mail a screenshot please. Thanks.

What I am thinking is that if (and it will) MuLab begins to attract more and more heavy users and professionals it is just a matter of time when a Mixer that occupy most of the screen with a dozen of Racks (some open and the majority collapsed) that it is going to be a challenge to any one to be able to maneuver Sends, Plug-ins, Pans etc. on large projects.

REAPER got it under control but mixing is always a Space allocation problem.

This is not a criticism but preventive observation right at the beginning of a new life for MuLab and it would be wise to see ahead because what you are able to see it will eventually manifest. So let us see MuLab in the Big Way.

I made a skin for M3 with narrower collapsed racks which will be available soon. Here is a screenshot from my 1280x800 screen:

Yes please!!!

Anyone else think being able to group racks in a similar way to the subtracks would be rather useful?

Branis' LooxHiQ is available via http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html

Thanks Branis!

Yes. A little confusing at times. Podium has it that way.

Hi Branis,

Nice work on the new skin. The small racks are great!

Hey, it automatically switched to the new skin. Nice one!

Thanks Branis. It's a bit high-contrast as a whole - at least on my monitor - but a good skin.

Ah! I knew I'd done it somehow. Can you add "Float" to the right-click menu on the rack header, please? :) (I know it's getting a little long...) Of course, it's only appropriate when the rack isn't in the MPA.

OK:

If you use replace and pick another module, the rack disappears (of course)!

I've not tried cut and copy. Just not sure they're appropriate on a rack.

Perhaps these make sense when the rack is in the MPA?

+1

I think this loox very smart, and Hi Q..uality !

There are some really nice details in there. Among other things, I like the menu borders, the 'illuminated' highlighting, and the way the Play/Stop button changes when clicked, etc.

Well done.
