Hi folks,

The skin you've all been waiting for is finally here! Read the story at:

or just grab the skin:

If you remember the old LooxLite, you can see that it has gone through a lot of changes. I hope you agree that they are for the better.

Everything is skinned except the MultiSampla, Sampla and Synthia parameter panels. I have no clear idea how to do that now and I don't think it's very important.

Hope you like it.

great ! LooxLite was my favourite on M2 (all others skins are too dark) !

Nice skin. :tu:

Post

Thanks!

...but I forgot the most important part: play the tune shown in the preview and get the right feeling: http://victornils.net/music/LooxLite.mp3

Post

nice skin,

but when I switch the position display to dual view (position + time),
then nothing is displayed (neither position nor time)
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler!

Post

Thanks, I've totally missed that. It's appears to be a font issue. If you delete Common/Fonts/DigitalDisplay.Mtft then it will "work" BUT there are dots in the image which I use to make the font monospaced -- then it should be as simple as replacing all hex bytes 5f with ff in the font file :D But that doesn't work with the smaller sizes of the font. It won't look good anyway and the font is too small.

I need to be able to customise the loox of this display mode. Please Jo, give me a way to do that in TransportPanel.Xml...

Post

In dual view the font size should be the same as with mono view (position only).
there is enough space (left from position) to show time too,
no need to crush the display.

Yeah, I only want to use the font in its original size. Another solution is to just show the time.

To Vervex:

First of all, congrats on LooxLite :)

Indeed there seems to be something wrong with the "DigitalDisplay.Mtft" included in LooxLite. Delete "DigitalDisplay.Mtft" and let MU.LAB remake it on next run. Then include the fresh version in your skin. But before doing that, also note that your DigitalDisplay.Png has black points in the top row, in the same row as the blue dots. This is weird. Please see http://www.mutools.com/mulab/docs/skin-sdk.html and also DigitalDisplay.Png in LooxPhat.

Also this: Note that it's best to provide different fontsizes in DigitalDisplay.Png. When the position is displayed together with the time, another size is used than when only the position is used. Please see LooxPhat as a reference.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jo,

Thanks :-)

Yes I know it's weird, but intentional. I play the hacker, and I want a monospaced, bitmapped font.

I understand that this is unsafe. I don't follow the specs. I am to blame if it doesn't work. It did work, but the display mode with both position and time ruined it. Yes, it's my fault.

But my suggestion was to make it possible for a skin to specify how each display mode will look. In other words, can you change MU.LAB so that that it works with my skin idea? :ud:

I just took a look at the skin sdk and read that the picture may contain different sizes of the font. Maybe this means that there is a workaround. Otherwise, I have to "crush the display" -- give it a plain background and scale the font or just replace it with the one in LooxPhat. Or compromise my design in some way.

Of course, I would rather do it the right way and still have my tasty digital display. And I feel more creative as a programmer than as a skin artist, that's why I'm thinking "if only I had the MU.LAB code, I could easily do this" :)

Not at the moment, i'm sorry.

Post

Ok, I don't expect you to make any changes (some time) unless you think it's a good idea.

I think I can fix the font (hackish way). I will update my skin in a few days.

Hi Jo,

sorry for the possible stupid question,

but the tutorial

http://www.mutools.com/mulab/docs/skin-sdk.html

.. is there a link/chapter in the content page ?:

Not directly.

There is a link via the FAQ page.

The skin has been updated with a fully working position display. Use the same link to download the new version.
