No, but i would like to have one. At the second thought it would be very tedious to keep it in shape and running. AFAIK Hermann Seib has several of them just for having spare parts...Igro wrote:Ignonator, do you have a real PPG wave?
On the other hand i am a big wavetable scanning + wavesequencing fan:
former gear:
Waldorf Q keyboard (32 voices), Waldorf Microwave XT (10 voices), Korg Wavestation A/D, Korg Wavestation SR
current gear:
Access Virus TI desktop (OS 4.0), Korg Wavestation EX, Korg Legacy Collection Digital Edition (= Wavestation plugin), Waldorf Largo, Waldorf Edition LE, NI Massive, KV331 Audio Synthmaster 2.0, Zebra 2.5, PPG samples from Hollow Sun, WaveSim from Hermann Seib (free)
Like you see in tis thread i reprogrammed some PPG Wave 2.V patches on Largo. Wolfram Franke also published them on the Waldorf site. I also made some patches for the Synthmaster 2.0 factory sounds (with my real name...).
A Microwave 1 (OS 2.0) would be interesting maybe. Checking EBay from time to time.

yesterday i bought a Waldorf Blofeld desktop (includes a PPG filter emulation...) and wait for PPG Wave 3.V so i guess i'll not get a real PPG soon.
Also playing around with Waldorf PPG Wave 2.V, Waldorf Largo, your Wavesim plugin, the wavetables of the Virus TI, Massive and Synthmaster 2.0. Too much for the moment...
...not to forget the Wavestation...
PS: Maybe i'll get a Waldorf Microwave 1 when i find a cheap one...

Just found this about the inside of the Blofeld:
http://midibox.org/forums/index.php?/to ... omparison/
Very few processing power compared to what Largo needs... Fascinating what this "tiny" box is able to do...
Remember that this already contains the 60 MB of sample memory for the SL upgrade...

Largo was nominated for the MIPA 2010 award, besides Kontakt 4 and Ivory II. Very surprising for me that Ivory II won in the software instruments category:
http://www1.mipa-award.de/2010/winner.htm
A bit less surprising but still a bit astonishing for me is that DSI Tetra won against the Virus TI2. Another surprise for me was the nomination of the Arturia Origin keyboard...
The Origin seems to be that kind of product which many people seem to endorse but only very few actually really use.
PS: I changed the title of this thread to Largo and Blofeld since i own both now. BTW anyone is encouraged to add links and/or patches/soundsets here !!

Yes, that's quit a nice evolutionary step from the Prophet VS. I got it too, both in physical and in virtual form (honestly... WHO could have resisted this cuddly MS-20 lookalike USB dongle^WController that came with the Korg Legacy Collection?Ingonator wrote:...not to forget the Wavestation...

So many patches are available for the Wavestation that i haven't even tested all until today. I'm lucky that i have a RAM card for the Wavestation EX so i could use 3 RAM banks and the ROM bank. I guess i payed around 280 Euros at EBay for the Wavestation EX some years ago, and around 30 more for the RAM card. I also have the plugin from the Korg Legacy Collection Digital Edition.arakula wrote:Yes, that's quit a nice evolutionary step from the Prophet VS. I had a time when I ran it for hours in unison with a Waldorf XT, just enjoying the combination...
Even when the "digital" sounds are sounding identical in both the "analog" patches sound much fatter with the hardware to my ears. The sound of the Wavestation SR rack is sounding "cleaner" (which is not better in this case) to me too.
BTW i use EMagic Sounddiver for loading the patches into the hardware. Works on Windows 7 even when it's already quite old.
The only thing i don't like about my Wavestation is that i'll have to replace the LCD backlight soon since it's almost dark now. A known problem of the WS...

I will don't test them, because this soundset would be written on bank a - where all my own patches are - overwriting would be there not cool

Blofeld user wavetables and sounds:
http://Synth.Stromeko.net/Downloads.htm ... Wavetables
Those new user wavetables load to the new wavetable memory positions 80-96.
You need OS 1.15b for this.
