I'm using Ableton's Live 8 on an iMac (OSX 10.6.2). I'm having two consistent problems using Consequence v1.1.0

1. I cannot save a preset. This is regardless of whether I use the AU or VST. I don't know if this has anything to do with user permissions in folders or not. When I go to save a preset in the "User" folder no errors occur. When I look in that folder using Finder or if I try to access that preset using the preset menu in Consequence I get nothing. I have not tried to replicate this problem on my pc yet.

2. Consequence will not continue playback of a preset unless the gui is open. More specifically it will not loop. It will continue if I open the window again however. And the window does not need to have focus. It just needs to be open. I did not experience this issue on my pc using XP SP2.

Has anyone else had either of these two problems occur? I should also state that I'm new to OSX so if I'm missing something please let me know.

The first issue indeed sounds like a permission problem.
Please change the Consequence preset folder (and subfolder!) permission so that everyone can read/write.

The second issue is related to Live. Unfortunatly they deactivate plugins that do not perform sounds in a certain amount of time.
The workaround is to fire out some senseless modulation all the time.

Best,
Robert

Thanks for the reply. Correcting the user permissions solved the first problem. The second one is a bit tougher to nail down. However I do believe that the fix is with Ableton. I have two different version numbers for Live 8 installed and the older one doesn't have an issue for the most part. The newer version is acting quite strange. I will contact the Abes.

Thanks again.
