Well 99% of the applications I have are about content creation. The app store has 100,000's of applications. It is up to the purchaser to decide what the device will do for them.

A PC is probably 99% content consumption too. If you disagree, why don't you go count them up. You already did that for the iPad I presume as you gave a numerical value to it.

I just don't seem to see who exactly you are arguing too OR why you keep harping on a device you don't even like.

Why not start an argument about how shitty Sega Game Gear was or something more your speed?

The quote was actually from a well-known Silicon Valley executive (according to the author) regarding what the problem with a tablet computer like the iPad is. I can't think of many creative tasks that are easier or even possible with a touch screen relative to a keyboard/mouse, stylus graphic tablet or hardware controller.

I've used many music, graphics and business apps, and none would be better on a touch screen. That's the support I offer for my own assessment, and why I think the quote is accurate.

Interesting to note that the QWERTY keyboard layout was originally designed to slow down typing. But yes it's been around a long time and alternatives have so far all failed to catch on.

I hate to be alpha or pedantic but the qwerty keyboard was designed to minimize internal mechanical clashing inside of typewriters in the late 1800's

i havent read through all the pages, sorry but seeing as it doesnt have USB how would this talk to your laptop? Via wireless? Would that be fast/responsive enough. This would be wonderful with ableton...

There is a growing number of OSC solutions for the iPhone/iPad - even free ones. I see a lot of potential there for 'Lemur'-like applications.
