Well 99% of the applications I have are about content creation. The app store has 100,000's of applications. It is up to the purchaser to decide what the device will do for them.eduardo_b wrote:The iPad is 99 percent about content consumption and 1 percent about content creation.
A PC is probably 99% content consumption too. If you disagree, why don't you go count them up. You already did that for the iPad I presume as you gave a numerical value to it.
I just don't seem to see who exactly you are arguing too OR why you keep harping on a device you don't even like.
Why not start an argument about how shitty Sega Game Gear was or something more your speed?

The quote was actually from a well-known Silicon Valley executive (according to the author) regarding what the problem with a tablet computer like the iPad is. I can't think of many creative tasks that are easier or even possible with a touch screen relative to a keyboard/mouse, stylus graphic tablet or hardware controller.dan_s wrote:Well 99% of the applications I have are about content creation. ok, if my iPad brain understands, your argument is that some Other person said that quote and that YOU can not think of anything creative that is EASIER on a touch screen except maybe finger painting. I'm sure we can agree there.
and of course the two do not support one another.

I've used many music, graphics and business apps, and none would be better on a touch screen. That's the support I offer for my own assessment, and why I think the quote is accurate.dan_s wrote:ok, if my iPad brain understands, your argument is that some Other person said that quote and that YOU can not think of anything creative that is EASIER on a touch screen except maybe finger painting. I hate to be alpha or pedantic but the qwerty keyboard was designed to minimize internal mechanical clashing inside of typewriters in the late 1800'smasstronaut wrote:Interesting to note that the QWERTY keyboard layout was originally designed to slow down typing. But yes it's been around a long time and alternatives have so far all failed to catch on.
Then you should have put it in a flash cartoon.djanthonyw wrote:

Yes it was, I dont deny that. I added irony to the mix. Perhaps it needed a bit more processing. Meanwhile, heres a cool Mac vs PC video :The Chase wrote:I hate to be alpha or pedantic but the qwerty keyboard was designed to minimize internal mechanical clashing inside of typewriters in the late 1800'smasstronaut wrote:Interesting to note that the QWERTY keyboard layout was originally designed to slow down typing. logic isnt your strong point is it?UltraJv wrote:Yea, it was kinda low - it stopped you going on about the ipoor though didnt it. Psychology isnt one of your strong points either. I don't need to talk about my music or defend it here in words, it stands by itself. For those who recognise and feel it, great.
Just wanted to say something about random digs like this, especially way out of context - it's really not the one and just shows your insecurity and poor state.
I care about what I do so yeah I take it kind of personally, even though it's completely meaningless (and content-less) from some internet random.
Pearls before swine though, I guess. On to more positive things.
i will make this easy for you. you are a fucken idiot. you have added no content for or against here. since you just want to be a little yambag, i think we better just deal with it directly.

There is a growing number of OSC solutions for the iPhone/iPad - even free ones. I see a lot of potential there for 'Lemur'-like applications.Kraymon wrote:i havent read through all the pages, sorry but seeing as it doesnt have USB how would this talk to your laptop? Just do as I did.. mute the troll and enjoy a more tranquil KVR experience. Life is too short to waste energy on the "unconstructive elements of the internet".dan_s wrote:i will make this easy for you. you are a fucken idiot. you have added no content for or against here. since you just want to be a little yambag, i think we better just deal with it directly.

I was thinking Lemur too (but a fraction of the price!)

Im sorry you feel that way. Maybe you need a holiday? Perhaps in your rage, you missed me pointing out some problems that users on the Apple Forum are having with the ipad. Sounds like you could do with some anger mangement along the way.dan_s wrote:logic isnt your strong point is it?UltraJv wrote:Yea, it was kinda low - it stopped you going on about the ipoor though didnt it.
