Okay, I'm having a different issue with the mdrummer large install. I downloaded the torrent, and got a folder with setup_MacOSX.app as well as the setup.dat and setup.dat.md5 files.
However, when I double click the .app file, no GUI comes up. There is a brief animation of the icon rushing out towards the screen, and then nothing.
I also looked to see if there might be an update manager associated with the mdrummer small I installed earlier in the week, but am not seeing any.
How should I be trying to install mdrummer large? I am on a new intel mac pro running snow leopard. What should I try next?
thanks,
--bongo

Hi there,
it's more than probable, that this is caused by missing X11 component - please use your Mac OS X installation DVD to install that package and it should work then. This is another Apple bug

Same problem for me trying to install Mdrummer small. I have the X11 component installed in my utilities folder.

Hi there, you used torrents right?
It's the crazy Mac permission system, which uTorrent nicely ignored
. So you have 3 options -
1) redownload when we finish uploading the newest version (in a few hours)
2) I can send you the setup with fixed permissions
3) just use finder, open content of the setup_MacOSX, get inside the Contents/MacOS and there is a file called setup.bin, so you use finder to change permissions (Show info/Permissions) and enable "Execute".

Yes, I used the torrents. Well, I tried what you suggested, but there is no "execute" anywhere in the permissions info pane of setup.bin. Unless I'm missing something. I guess I'll just try re-downloading it later. Thanks for your help.

Yaj, that's possible it can be done from console only... Well, that you Apple for yet another surprise
.
If you want new download of MDrummer Small, here's the torrent:
http://www.meldaproduction.com/download ... orrent.zip
Official release will be when MDrummer Large is finished too, which will take a few more hours. Btw. there are some compatibility improvements as well, so it's definitely useful to get the new version anyway.

So, is the new MDrummer Large available for download yet? I too seem to already have the X11 app in my utilities folder, and don't see any options to enable execute permissions in setup.bin. (I have read/write, and can change it to read only if I like!)
So does it seem as if I need a new file? And is that file available yet?
thanks,

New MDrummer Large will be available in about 2-3 hours (the upload speed is nasty these days...). If you have the old one, please just replace the setup with this one:
http://www.meldaproduction.com/download ... SX.app.zip
Well, you'll have to unzip it of course
.
Cheers!
