The problem isn't about holding different opinions but how these are expressed. Attacking the opinion itself, not the person having it, is the issue.
We escape the trap of our own subjectivity by
perceiving neither black nor white but shades of grey

Very true. I dont mind a bit of abuse from others, its the yin and yan factor. KVR would be very boring if we didnt have the odd spat.eduardo_b wrote:The problem isn't about holding different opinions but how these are expressed. Attacking the opinion itself, not the person having it, is the issue.

"Open Sound Control" - it's slowly catching on as a standard for musical interfaces.Kraymon wrote:OSC solutions?brambos wrote:There is a growing number of OSC solutions for the iPhone/iPad - even free ones. I see a lot of potential there for 'Lemur'-like applications.Kraymon wrote:i havent read through all the pages, sorry but seeing as it doesnt have USB how would this talk to your laptop? Via wireless? Would that be fast/responsive enough. This would be wonderful with ableton...
I was thinking Lemur too (but a fraction of the price!)

Can I offer two pennies to this lovely fountain (while others continue to pee in it
)?
I bought an iPad on such pure impulse that I didn't even want to try it for fear I'd talk myself out of it
Incidentally, the Apple prophet (i.e. sales clerk) at the uber-cool-we're-better-than-you-are Apple store insisted I play with it first. He was even selling me on its amazing features AFTER I'd already signed the purchase receipt
The entire Apple store experience during a new product launch is (at least in part) worth the price of admission. Watching the fans crowd around to drink the Apple kool-aide is great fun. I'm not so offended by them and actually find them a bit cute
They take on a certain cult-ish charm which is somewhat irresistible. They are selling themselves and selling each other on the superiority that is....Apple. I figure it's harmless so, let 'em have it. In some ways, Apple IS superior. Obviously, in other ways, it is not. It's an expensive car with heated leather seats. Not "better" just...well...different, more esteemed, higher class in an artsy-fartsy sorta way.
All said, I bought this little contraption with a fair bit of honesty about what I was getting (and what I WASN'T getting). For me, it's an internet/e-mail/watching videos machine for the couch, the bedroom, the airplane, etc. etc. On that level, this thing is KILLER! No shit! It's great fun until ya take the damn thing too seriously. As for the rest of it...just sit back and enjoy the show. And make friends with each other. Apples are good for ya

Apple has updated its developer terms, these new terms will shut down many current developers, and disallow many popular game engines and other apps. Now is the time for us to band together, spread the word, and help Stop The Madness.
-------
I think boycotting apple products is the only way to stop this.
The article got 620 Diggs in 2 hours!
