Customising "New Session"

I'm creating a basic MuSession file for use as a 'template' - in order to save time by having various items already present when starting any new project (eg metronome state, loop state, colours, my own initial group of tracks, names, racks, plugins, etc).

As per the MU.LAB Docs, I can save this file into the Mulab folder, as "New.MuSession", and it will then open whenever I select "New Session".

But now I'd just like a little advice on whether my understanding of "New Session" is correct, as follows:

1. Whenever the Mulab folder does NOT contain any file named "New.MuSession", then choosing 'New Session' (either when starting MU.LAB, or via "File->New Session") opens a new session that has a default 'layout' which is part of Mulab.exe (ie not customisable).

2. If any file named "New.MuSession" IS present in the Mulab folder, then MU.LAB will always open that file whenever "New Session" is chosen.

3. The creation of a customised new session file in this way does not overwrite or delete MU.LAB's original 'default' new session, and if any user-created "New.MuSession" file is subsequently moved out of the Mulab folder (or deleted, or given any different name), then MU.LAB will automatically go back to using its own 'default' layout for new sessions.

Thanks.

Thanks Jo.

Using my own "New.MuSession" layout will help me enjoy even more 'instant' music making !
