This is probably the best place to ask and get answers quickly..

I'm having a problem with the preset MK Arp Chords in the Oldskool bank.

It's got a (seemingly) random click in it which I can't for the love of god get rid of. I've try pretty much everything: checked the envelopes for attack settings, checked lfo, checked the arpeggiator, the delay effect.. pretty much everything but I can't remove the click. I can't seem to eq it out either.

Can anyone replicate this problem, and if so, can you have a look to see if you can find a possible fix?

Found it!

Dang, this one was a head scratcher. I first realized I heard no clicks when I disabled FX. After carefully disabling/enabling modules I found the source of the clicking was actually the [ Delay ] module.

I was actually getting ready to craft a bug report to Urs when I noticed LFO1 is set to random. When I changed that to sine the clicking became periodic.

Sure enough when I flipped to the Mod Matrix LFO1 is modulating Pan2:Delay. If you remove that modulation and set the knob on Pan2 Delay to hard right you no longer hear the clicks (and to me doesn't really change the sound much either).

That was a fun one! :D

well, you see.. I had noticed that one before and I was convinced that was indeed the problem. But when I remove the modulation on the delay, I still hear the clicks. And that's when I started thinking "WTF?!?!??!"

I'm going to test in an other host now. Maybe it's to do with Live.

I just tried this preset in Reaper and there's absolutely no clicking?!?!?
Who do I send a bug report to now? :)

I have no idea...I did debug it in Reaper too. If the clicking is still there in Live then I'm out of ideas. Maybe it has to do with the magical plugin delay compensation?

AAAAAAAAH bloody idiot!!!

The track with Zebra on it was still routed to an other track for sidechain compression. The attack on the compressor was too short and it was usi ng the wrong compressor model :dog:

The good news is you have the problem all sorted. :D Don't sweat it too much, I enjoyed the debugging exercise; it makes us better students of Zebra and sound design.

Hey spaceman (I love typing that),

I found another workaround that keeps the instability present in the delay line.

Go to the modmatrix and change the mod source for Delay1:Pan2 from Lfo1 to Mmap1.

Next, in ModMapper1 set it up as follows:ImageIn other words, set the Modulator to Lfo1, draw in a max value bar in the window all the way across and set the type to MapQuantize. The last bit seems to be the most important. I think the reason the clicks were showing up was due to changing the pan delay off the beat and severly clipping some of the signal chain.

This restores the wonderful delay instability w/o the pesky clicks.

Cheers!
