Hi,
I'm trying to install my copy of Zebra 2.5 on Receptor I running system 1.7.20080616.
I followed the instructions Urs gave in the 'pre-installed' version that can be downloaded from his site, but when I go ahead with the install in Receptor all files get moved to the 'Failed' folder.
Has anyone else had any luck in installing Zebra 2.5 on their Receptor?
Thanks

The problem may be that some old Receptors do not support the SSE2 instruction set. All recent plugins of mine need this to operate properly though.
In such a case the only thing really is to revert to Zebra 2.3.1
Cheers,
Urs

Hey Urs,
I just tried downloading and installing Zebra 2.3.1 on my Receptor and the same thing happened - all 686 files moved from 'Drop here' to 'Failed'
Any ideas?

Update:
I manually copied the Zebra2.data folder to the /Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins/u-he/ path.
When I instantiate Zebra 2.5 in Receptor it's fine. But when I attempt to open its GUI, I get an error: PNG Loading, the message is 'problem reading the file'
If I click on OK about 40 times, Zebra 2.5 then opens and works properly.
Any idea as to what's wrong here?

Hi Urs,
yes I did. Copied the data folder from the mac to the folder containing the dll files, which Receptor was happy to 'install' once they were in the right folder (/Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported/u-he)
What's really surprising is that after clicking OK about 40 times on the 'problem loading the files' error message in Receptor, the Zebra GUI eventually loads and seems to be working absolutely fine.

Ok... I think the Riddle is solved
MacOS X loves to add certain files to each directory, e.g. ".DS_store" and for each file another file of size 0kB.
So I assume that at least one (or even all) of the image directories in Zebra2.data/data/Images/ have *loads* of files that start with "." but still end with ".png".
What happens is that the directory is scanned for .png files, and each file found is opened. But as it's not a real .png file, an error message appears.
The solution would be deleting all files that start with a period "." inside Zebra2.data
Let me know if that works / does the trick.
Cheers,
Urs

Urs you rock!!
Ok so using my MBP in boot camp mode, I went thru the whole u-he directory (and its subfolders) and manually deleted all files starting with '.'
Zebra 2.5 now works flawlessly on my Receptor I Rev.C running system 1.7.20080616
Thanks for the help!

Yea, I guess you might want to make this a sticky, or at least add in your instructions for the Receptor Pre-Installed version to not ever use a Mac to copy the u-he folder to the Receptor drive, or be prepared to go manually delete all files starting with '.' BEFORE running the unsupported install method in the Receptor.
Thanks again for your help, and glad we sussed it! I also copied the missing font - another thing that would be useful to add to your 'Pre-installed' folder.

Ultragreat!
I was looking for a great way to use Zebra on stage. The plugorama site didnt say anything about Zebra so i actually decide NOT to go for Receptor, but now i changed my mind!
