Is that how many multi-sampled sets versus actual programmed patches?
Parent sounds are the main multisamples and Child patches are the program variations of that sound. I will tell you some more about this. Often times the CHILD patches are more exciting than the Parent sound because the Parent is supposed to be the "starting place" and often has the least amount of effects and patch programming so you know what it is to begin with. Sometimes over the years we've done more in the parent patch than other times. One of the minor drawbacks of SampleTank is that you can't save back the Parent sound from the interface itself and any tweaks you DO make get tucked in under a dark triangle next to the Parent sound which when turned down reveals the related child patches. So, it is a little extra step when browsing but worth it as the Child patches (both included and more importantly the ones you're supposed to make by digging into the wonderful world of SampleTank synth and effect processing - easy to do and rewarding!) are where a lot of the more instantly gratifying sounds are.

In the future I think the way these and combi patches are presented is going to change and improve. I've made a bunch of requests about it. For me, as good as Child and Combi patches can be they are a bit too "hidden" and maybe some people don't find them. But, as long as you know they are there, no problem. You wouldn't want to miss out! There are a lot of goodies to discover in SampleTank. As I said, one of the BIGGEST is actually tweaking the patches to your own liking and saving back your Child (individual) and Combi (the full module). Incidentally there are TWO save buttons on the interface and the one on the right is for Child and the one at the top is for Combis.

Hmmmmmm..... Combis! I might be able to add a little spice to this GB in that way too! Let me see how I can bribe you all with bonus Combis! ;) Alright, I've got it. If you can find THIRTY different forums or popularly visted blogs on the internet to post a fresh thread about the Xpansion Tank 2 Group Buy pushing this link:

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... code=KVR30

then, we'll give EVERYONE (even including people that didn't buy the GB from esoundz for this one... although we do appreciate it of course) THIRTY free Combi patches for EACH title in this series! That's a total of 900 Combi patches (and if you have all 30 you can use them all). Combi patches are cool multi-layered sounds that have a life of their own. You'll love them! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

We'll call that the 30 for 30 offer! 30 Bonus Combis for each title you picked!

My thinking is that it will then appear in your "My Downloads" area.

"it" being in this case a SERIAL NUMBER and instructions on how to redeem that serial for your product choices on the IK site. That's how the IK group buys work with IK dealers like esoundz.

The sounds themselves are not downloaded from esoundz (that's why we call it "digital delivery" as opposed to just downloadable on the site. However, the BONUS EXCLUSIVE sounds WILL be downloaded from esoundz in your user area and made available to you at the end of April (in a few weeks). It is custom made and we're including many previously unreleased sounds in that bonus! I think you'll be happy you got it!

All those combis too? That is pretty much the "duel" you mentioned, David! :) The bar has been raised so high, even IK dudes are jealous of the bonuses you give. Dang.

When will the patch lists be posted?

i'm thinking if ik doesn't want to host a combi exchange, we should have a thread at kvr. should it be in the instruments or samples forum?

the arp pack compliments the arps in ss2. however, there are a lot of ob raw sounds in ss2. does the ob pack go beyond that? i'm guessing the pianos in the piano pack are more layered than ss2. i hope it's not the same 7 foot. i'm sure the cinematik pack won't overlap ss2. i'm also eyeballing those drums. i'm thinking they should be more involved and different than ss2. my next 2 choices are the vintage keys and the bass pack. how layered are these and how removed from ss2 are they?

i've been backing up songs to mp3 for reference and cleaning out my samples and synths. this deal is really going to clean up my act.

thanks, ik, for putting crimson strings on the included xt pack. that's the only sound i wanted from sample tron :hihi:
