Parent sounds are the main multisamples and Child patches are the program variations of that sound. I will tell you some more about this. Often times the CHILD patches are more exciting than the Parent sound because the Parent is supposed to be the "starting place" and often has the least amount of effects and patch programming so you know what it is to begin with. Sometimes over the years we've done more in the parent patch than other times. One of the minor drawbacks of SampleTank is that you can't save back the Parent sound from the interface itself and any tweaks you DO make get tucked in under a dark triangle next to the Parent sound which when turned down reveals the related child patches. So, it is a little extra step when browsing but worth it as the Child patches (both included and more importantly the ones you're supposed to make by digging into the wonderful world of SampleTank synth and effect processing - easy to do and rewarding!) are where a lot of the more instantly gratifying sounds are.JavaJ wrote:What is are Parent vs Child sounds on the descriptions.
Is that how many multi-sampled sets versus actual programmed patches?
In the future I think the way these and combi patches are presented is going to change and improve. I've made a bunch of requests about it. For me, as good as Child and Combi patches can be they are a bit too "hidden" and maybe some people don't find them. But, as long as you know they are there, no problem. You wouldn't want to miss out! There are a lot of goodies to discover in SampleTank. As I said, one of the BIGGEST is actually tweaking the patches to your own liking and saving back your Child (individual) and Combi (the full module). Incidentally there are TWO save buttons on the interface and the one on the right is for Child and the one at the top is for Combis.
Hmmmmmm..... Combis! I might be able to add a little spice to this GB in that way too! Let me see how I can bribe you all with bonus Combis!

then, we'll give EVERYONE (even including people that didn't buy the GB from esoundz for this one... although we do appreciate it of course) THIRTY free Combi patches for EACH title in this series! That's a total of 900 Combi patches (and if you have all 30 you can use them all). Combi patches are cool multi-layered sounds that have a life of their own. You'll love them! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
We'll call that the 30 for 30 offer!
