I hope it's ok, if I post a topic with my experiments. It's kinda fun to make such a little gallery to share a bit of personal experience with MU.LAB. I think it's incredibly liberating and brings out a different kind of music to me. Oddly enough, it reminds me of much earlier days of mine...maybe 20 years ago, just with insanely less effort and a really clean sound. :D

TUNES COLLECTION
taron-glitter.MuSession
This is my first closer look at the MuSynth, making a bunch of sounds including a cute and kinda promissing flute, I think...

taron-cheese.MuSession *updated Lead Guitar and a kind of choir
More experiments with muSynth...

taron-electile.MuSession muSynth mild techno with muSynth drum fun...no idea how this works with speaker and subwoofer. I tried to be careful.

taron-wildinger.MuSession muSynth with curious ring modulation... kinda spacey, but again just an idea.

taron17-synth.MuSession muSynth with snippits of my flutes.

taron19-indigitalis.MuSession muSynth sound of the digital tribes, hehe.

Again, I hope it's alright if I intrude here like that :?:

One more thing, I only run headphones for some time now, so I can't tell what this is going to sound like on speakers, unfortunately. Time to dig up my monitors, I guess... so I apologize in advance for the mix.

Excellent! :tu:
I can see you feel at home in MuLab.
Nice Flute too

This Mu-Gang it's getting better and better!

No such a thing! :D

If it's OK with the others I created a new Topic (MWM) just for things like this one. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=284317

Thanks, Niccolo! Piece by piece I'm getting into it. I still need to wrap my mind around some of the ideas. It's tough, because I have no idea at which point of its development I'm shearing into the mix here, hehe. Some things in the MuSynth at this early point of myself feel a bit like work arounds as it's hard for me to recognize a direct access, but it has really great potential as I can already tell. I'm missing a few little things for controller design and treatment. Applying note tracking to any parameter as well as modifying the tracking itself seems a bit tricky or partially not possible, but I shouldn't put that into this thread. This one is for sharing my experiments with you. :)

Thanks again, Niccolo!

Hi,good session i love the sound and the mood of the piece.it's relaxing and good use of the modular area!

Thank you, Simon! Still wrestling a tiny bit with the muSynth, but it's slowly transforming into a dance of sorts... breakdance at this point, but well... it'll be a while before it becomes a walz! :D

That's some great sound programming!

I'm not fully understanding the limitations here but would setting up parameter maps to control the Musynth module elements and then automating them help?

Post

THANKS!
Since the parameter maps can only be affected by controllers (or sequencer curves) as far as I can tell, it wouldn't help getting keyboard (note) tracking data or even really velocity. I mean, I'm still in the process of diving, so I could easily miss something, but so far...

The other thing I'm missing is a helpful display for things such as parametric EQ with a pretty curve. I might be just conditioned to judge the Q by visual support to see how far it goes around the selected frequency, but well... it feels a bit like flying blindly.

Also,- haha, sorry, man, but I best just write it down here while I'm at it- the controller curves in the sequencer are...uhm...not really helpful, when you've squeezed a parameter mapping into tiny increments between 0.5 and 0.51 for example. I would much prefer to have a 0% - 100% curve that gets interpreted by the synth as opposed to a controller curve in the sequence that wants to show the actual value. Normally it sounds unlike me, since I am somewhat of a control-freak when it comes to music, hehe, or the creation process altogether, but in this case it's a application problem. One can't edit what he can't see.
Hmmm...parameter maps could help there!!! Hmmm.... MORE TO EXPLORE! :D

Indeed i cn only hear 4 tracks i use mulab free :) but i 'll buy it soon:)

I can honestly and sincerely recommend it! It's been a long time since I so truely enjoyed spending some money on something. It's the price of a fancy dinner and a pleasure with no end in sight! ;)

Sure it's a fantastic Daw i had purchased EXT by the past because mulab was too young and some feature was absent but now it seems that it's a good daw and i can read the font on it:D EXT make me cry when i work on it 2 hours...
I just wait for the next month but there's also gp6 who is out ^^.But in regard of the price of mulab i think i 'll deal the two XD.Anyway i have the time i need to play with Mdrummer for now :)

Nice session Taron!

Tip to MU.LAB FREE users:

If you want to listen to all tracks of a session that uses more than 4 tracks, then put all tracks in 'part target' mode, then simply move all parts on top of eachother on the top four tracks. This is not a very editable situation (please evaluate MU.LAB XT or MU.LAB UL for that), but it is playable :)

Thx for the tip! mutools

Hello Taron nice to have here such a experienced user as you are and i do want to feast with you also :)
Can you explain how you did the automation for the musynth 2 and his WFT oscillator
Unfortanely for me it is not so intuitive that i can figure this out now.. so i ask you
