Does z3ta+1.3 work with Tracktion?
None of my presets are loading when z3ta+ 1.3 is opened as a filter. The vsti loads, but no presets. Strange thing is, the virus_mod z3ta+ loads the presets just fine. Any ideas?
Thanks.

db, z3ta+ and the FX versions all work perfectly well in Tracktion. Not sure what your exact problem is with your description. Try the followings
Export your bank from other host and load it back in Tracktion. Then save it as the default bank.
The fx_2 version(the one that empowers us with its filters) works differently. You need to route an independent MIDI track into it. That means you have to put the fx_2 in another track and route the source track and a MIDI track into it.

Not sure what the problem was but the default.fxb had vanished. I reinstalled z3ta+1.3 and made a copy of the default.fxb in case it happens again.TheWall wrote:db, z3ta+ and the FX versions all work perfectly well in Tracktion. So zeta works again. Who knows! <shrug>
Thanks for the tips.

A while back I wrote about no sound from Eve in Tracktion, I also discovered the same problem with Dreamkiller and random patches on random banks in Rhino.
I found the problem and it may be of some use to someone else at sometime who knows, it turns out my keyboard midi split was set to on and switching split off fixed the problem.
This hasn't bothered any other host but for some reason Tracktion dosn't like it.(Fine I won't do it again)
I'm happy because I am realy getting to like Tracktion.

I just downloaded Tracktion today. Wow, very nice, I'm in love. However; VAZ 2010 has no output (or input fom host?). It loads, the graphics pop up, but no signal on the VAZ window (So, there's no sound, but no meter activity on the vaz mixer either). Has anyone had this problem? Am I retarded? Thanks.

So I have been playing with it more. VAZ is fine with sequences and midi data played from clips. It Doesn't play from the keyboard is the only problem. All my other VSTis are working from the keyboard. That said, it's not a major problem, just an annoyance. Still, am I missing something obvious?

Haven't got time to post in any depth but I took delivery of Vocaloid yesterday, and last night tried it out. I imported a midi file created in Vocaloid editor (only a four note line to try things out) and whenever I tried to play the track I only heard small snippets of the vocal line and my PC locked on me (CPU was taken over by Tracktion and I had to use the reset button). No other VSTs were active and that was the only track containing any data. I've emailed zero-g to see what they have to say about this.
Running P4 2.6 GHz, 1Gb RAM, Windows XP. Experience no problems whatsoever with my Spectrasonics VSTs (or any others).
** edit **
Got a reply saying:
Whether they mean specifically with Tracktion or in general I don't know. If the former then hopefully a fix will be forthcoming. If the latter, then how the hell did the product get released in this state? Oh yeah ... silly me, NAMM ...
Zero-g have contacted Yamaha about the problem. Apparently the workaround is to use ReWire to hook up Vocaloid with Tracktion. Hmm.
I posted something along these lines in the Instruments forum also, as it could affect other users (?)

There seems to be a problem using Vocaloid as a VST instrument

Yamaha have just advised us that a new update will be available to registered users of Vocaloid by the end of this week that will cure the VST problem. Apparently they improved some part of the synthesis engine at the last minute and this must have introduced an unexpected bug in VST functionality. We apologise to any users who have been experiencing problems using Vocaloid as a VST plugin, rather than via ReWire or standalone.

Thanks Ed. I got an email about this from Dom at zero-g earlier today. BFD from FXExpansion behaves like a monkey on valium and two slit wrists. Excessive clipping after loading a kit, crashes when selecting grooves. Also, the GUI does not load until you mouse over all of the animated buttons. It's a big unwieldy VST, but my Powerbook should be able to handle it. My hunch is that it's Tracktion.
Mac OS 10.3.2 - Powerbook 1Ghz 512MB RAM, 7200rpm external firewire drive (on which BFD is installed - it has a faster access time than the internal 4200rpmer)

I'm interested in reading the previous posts about GA (preferably without wading through over 100 pages of posting subjects) so if someone could direct me there please, I would appreciate it.Pädy wrote:Sigh. I have been posting this x times, but why not post it another time?
Groove Agent is working perfectly in Tracktion and recording Midi is actually much easier than in any other host I know of. Here's the deal:
BTW, I don't get much out of the search engine. Are there some instructions on using it?
I'm about to make some music...

This is what Pädy wrote (no need to wade through a hundred pages, just two...)
:
"Groove Agent is working perfectly in Tracktion and recording Midi is actually much easier than in any other host I know of. Here's the deal:
1.) insert an instance of GrooveAgent into a track
2.) play it with your Midi keyboard – notes up from C3 trigger the different patterns of one style (well, depends on the Midi channel actually – RTFM )
3.) now start recording – hit any note from C3 up and GrooveAgent starts playing. Hit another note to change the pattern or insert a fill if you like…and so on.
4.) Stop recording – what you see now, is a midi file with just a couple of notes – that’s fine.
5.) Go to GrooveAgent and enable the Midi out option.
6.) Now select that clip you just created
7.) Go to “export – create a midi file”, check the “only render selected clips” option. Define the name and destination and hit “render”.
8.) Then go to the Windows folder where the newly created Midi file has been saved to and drag’n’drop it onto the Tracktion edit"
