Ableton 8 and ACE - using BT preset: Jam and Spoon - Stella (mw) - how to use the mod wheel without well a keyboard controller as I am just running my lappy?

You can automate it using Lives automation settings, within a recorded midi track.
You can also get (if you have windows) Savi Host from here.

It has a mod wheel with the keyboard to manually use with the mouse.

Thanks for the info - so I now have the VMDpt and FMDpt1 mapped to an xy controller in ableton, as these are the cables coming out from the m-wheel, but not much soundwise is occuring? [downloading savihost as I write this
