Hello!

What is the required directory structure for the .SEm, .SEP, .FXB, .fxp, soundfont files, etc. for each of the HGF vsts? I've tried to use some of the new banks on this site, and gotten various messages and abends when something couldn't be found. I see that there is a folder in each vst folder at the same level as the .dll which has the ones supplied with the download. Can there be subfolders within this folder? Are any other folders searched? Is there any way to share soundfonts among all the vsts without copying them to multiple folders?

Thanks,

there is a very simple structure for example:
\HGF-VSTi\synth.dll
requires a subfolder:
\HGF-VSTi\synth\
here is where .sem/.sep files go and fxb, fxp as well as sf2 files coming with the resp. VSTi
here synth.dll will look for the sf2 files by default for the internal patch bank.

You may change the location for the sf2 files but then you have to work with external fxb files to be loaded which can be done by some hosts on startup of a related project.

Some of the banks available may require some additional sf2 files which you might not have at all. In this case you might try using the sf2 files you have simply by loading these into the slots - might give some interesting results too.

You should keep in mind the loaded sf2 files are valid for a whole bank. sf2 file info is stored in an fxp as well thus loading one with different sf2 files than the current bank will change this for the whole bank.
