Thank you Jo great tuto.
It gave me an idea:
Do you think it 's possible to do the same things but the last output send on different racks not only rack A.
By this we 'll have control on each part of the drums like level on one separate rack for each pieces of drums (BD sd HH etc..).
Like it's in ableton Live Drum sessions.
What do you think about this setup? Advantages/inconvenients?
Anyway i 'll try it :p

You can insert Racks in the MUX if you want.

Alternatively, you can insert the multi-out plug in the Modular Area.

It are two different ways of doing the same, each way having its advantages.

Is it not possible to explain this with the routing in the session modulair area too?

Note:
I looking forward when there is a optional auto-placement feature of modules for MUlab in the Session modulair area

Thanks Jo, for the clear step-by-step instructions in this tutorial.

On the second line, I guess I can interpret the word 'sec', as 'dry' ?

Regarding the Modular Area in general, as I gently start to play around a bit more in there, I'm getting a glimpse of the exciting things that are in store, and I'm determined to get there !
The Note Key Splitter, for example, has just solved a little problem for me.

It's very much the same as in to the tutorial, only you do it on another modular context.

Right-click modular area -> Auto Arrange.

Thank you very much for these tips!

Yes that feature i know ..but i mean a auto-placement of rackslots
( you know my exaustive thread about that )
So you can talk about two levels of modulair editors
- the session modulair area( via menu ) for rack routing (en what is inside :help:..for that a new optional feature to come ( made by mulab )
- The internal routing of the audio components in teh rack

From didactial view its good to make this distinction of type of modulair editor
- session modulair editor
- instrument modulair editor

The wiring in the session modulair area can than be done by hand or automatically and there is no confusion anymore about the routing

------------------------------------------------------------------
Suppose that the example
Using a multi-out VSTi within a rack
This can be explained also on session modulair level

My conclusion about that topic is here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 13#4079513

In short: Although i appreciate your intention to improve things, i don't agree with your ideas about this.

There are 3 wishlist items regarding possible optimizations of the modular workflow:

1) MUX and MuSynth may be merged. Needs more research.
2) Research the integration of module editors within modular view.
3) Different back color for the different modular contexts.

Euh, but i'm repeating myself :?

Well i am curious to see how this works out ( when done ofcourse :D )
A improvement ...
Thanks

A comment..
Line 1)MUX and MuSynth may be merged. Needs more research.

For us users it seems like an easy thing to think that a MUX and a MuSynth just because they do almost the same thing ... Almost.
If this "needs more research", to me this means that Jo has very good reason for considering even the smallest changes, and this has to do probably with the overall vision of what Mu.Lab need to become (His Vision) and with the way it is coded in order to get there beside platforms limitations.

I like to push my wishes as well, but the lack of understanding of this factors induces me to reflect and trust his foot steps.
Let's relax and see where Jo is leading us and so far I have no regrets.

+10

That would be just great :D

Is it really that easy? :)

Do the outputs appear automagically? For example do 8 out's just show when Microtonic is inserted? And 16 when Drummax is inserted? [Not at my music lappy at the moment...]

Ofcourse is it possible to program a dedicated "multi vst" feature that when you choose a Multi vst in Mulab that mulab shows(construct) those outputs in the composingscreen for you automatically.

But that is not the case now
Now you must wrap your vst multi in MUX manually and then you can make a basic routing(depends on what you want):
- a submix (see tutorial doc).. assigns the multi vst outputs to one rack or more racks
- a multi vst - assign all multi vst outputs to a different rack

Note : You can make a template for this in MUX

Analog ( correct me if am wrong ) is the routing for MUlab as a rewire master
Any rewire slave acts like a Multi Vsti plug and his output(s) is now streaming audio
