Hi:

Was wondering if anyone has this running or if it's supported. The Gold orchestra is tempting.

Not supported yet (if ever). Let Muse know if you want support for a plug as they say they listen, but don't hold your breath.

Post

Well I don't think that support for PLAY libraries is too far off because Doug Rogers was talking about it in this thread.

Will be available after NAMM.
Hear, hear - that is interesting. I assume this is Play Pro?
No, it's Receptor for EW VIs. They finally resolved the issue they were having.
So not long now, I guess?

I'll email Muse, but also voice my interest in PLAY support.

Did you get an answer from Muse about this?

Adding my support to EW plugs working on the Receptor. I'd love to be able to install my copy of Goliath.

On top of that, both companies use the iLok, so I guess lack of support for PLAY is probable due to problems running it with WINE. Perhaps graphics woes.

I'd like to bump this as well. The East West QL Pianos would be great to have on Receptor 2.

well it has to do with the fact that the installer is A .MSI file.
with that being said, the latest version of wine for Receptor only works with
ver 1.8 but......the extraction of it is the problem (temp folder permission thingy).

so

if one is able to extract the contents on a windows computer then copy the extracted contents to the receptor then as root, launch the installer.

then I can help out.... I dont have version 1.8 so Im stuck...at least
I gave u something to work with :)

I too want this!
I want to buy Silver or Gold!! but only if it works

hit me up with screen shots and Ill help out.
no realy. :)

I can't believe we're still waiting for play to be supported on receptor. Play 2 is coming out this month and Play 1 isn't even working yet on receptor. Thinking about buying a PC instead of upgrading my receptor pro to Receptor 2. I just want to be able to use East West Pianos Live... It's always the same story going on and on...

So is there any word on this?

I just bought East West RA thinking i could use it on my receptor (yes i am stupid thank you all for informing me) and now im pretty much stuck with something i cant use.

Not blaming anyone as its my own fault for not reading the disclaimer on plugorama properly. But according to an email from East West i got, the old kompakt version that IS compatible with receptor (and advertised on plugorama) hasnt been made for over a year and you cant even buy it any more.

Anyone wanna comment?

I did the same ... bought Symphonic Orchestra & Symphonic choirs thinking it will work on receptor (as advertised on KVR Audio : User Installable) ...

They have to do something : Komplete 6 not supported, except if you buy the complete version, now Eastwest not supported ... at the end, I will sell my Receptor pro 2 and buy a standard PC ...

There was a company many years ago called Spectral Synthesis. They were the ones who actually developed TDM. They had a nice 12 track system with exremely high sound quality for the PC. Digi's response was to come out with the audiomedia 3 card which ran eight tracks with EQ and a reverb send.

Spectral started falling apart as they couldn't bring to life some of the things they were promising and more importanly they couldn't get the major retailers to carry them. The support team couldn't keep up and they started not to respond to their customers. At that time I was selling they're systems though a studio that was using them. They were bought by euphonix who's offices were just across the hall from me. We were selling the systems for about eight grand with the convertors. I saw the decline and sold my system for four. A few months later they were worth nothing.

Their main developer hooked up with EMU and developed the Paris system. Of course he promised the sky and didn't deliver so they fell off as well.

It's a tough ride for the smaller music tech companies because the often don't have a good grasp on how much it costs to implement thier systems and find out the hard way. I want Muse to succeed because they have a great idea and I've invested a lot into it.

I think they would be well off just selling the Uniwire technology as a separate product across all operating systems. They'd make a killing and they wouldn't have to support the hardware.

Thanks for the historical perspective! For my usage, Uniwire has been the least important aspect of the Receptor. I would much rather see the focus be on making major software available for use in the Receptor operating system. I run a small business, and I know how hard it can be to cover all the bases and keep up on communication. I get myself in trouble when I am putting my focus on growth and new projects and getting sloppy in my communication with current customers!I am not going to cut my losses and sell my Receptor 2. I've invested too much money, time, and creative energy in this machine to give upon it.
