Lyrical Distortion has a group buy that seems like a pretty good deal at 75% off:

http://www.lyricaldistortion.com

only a few more and we get 15 (rather than just 9!) guitar and bass libraries along with the main library Lyrical Direct.

Ends May 16.

I may end up regretting this, because it could cost me a killer deal, but:

AudioMidi is doing another warehouse clearance sale. The last one had some great stuff at stunning prices, but it would go very quickly, and they kept adding new stuff all the time, so you couldn't just relax and assume anything was finished. You had to check back fairly constantly.

I just hit the site and don't see anything new, so they apparently haven't begun yet. During the last one, I think they were cleaning out some stuff that had been around for a long, long time, so we might not see quite the same level of deals for this round.

There's 50% off all Antares AVOX Evo Plug-ins until May 13th.

Not quite as good as the No-Brainer Deal AudioMIDI ran, but still not bad.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I'm a bit excited for this one, but do you reckon this is just on boxed products, or could it be a "virtual"-warehouse clearance sale?

I'm hoping it's the latter, as I'm in the EU, and the duties on bringing something in from the States would probably wipe out any savings.

Yeah, that'd be nice, though I'll be a little surprised if they do this, since electronic delivery items don't take up any space and probably don't show on the balance sheets as unsold inventory. But these are crazy days for sales. Could be.

I'm starting to get a little impatient, as they haven't yet started actually populating the Deals section with anything new. Soon, hopefully.... :)

Sometimes they do though... depending on the deal they have with any given dev, they may have to buy a bunch of licenses up front in order to offer a better retail price. This is probably the case with the "no-brainer" deals for sure, but may apply to other products. It depends. Cross your fingers. :P

You're worse than me! :D

I hope this lives up to the hype . . . the hype I've created within myself about this potentially life-altering sale. :D

I just got an advertisement from Cakewalk for Amplitube 2 Live Download purchase for $20. Has anyone else received this? Is it any good? What kind of copy protection does it use?

Thanks,

Sean

Edit: Here's the link to the advertisement I received:

Thanks for that post...

I was indeed able to get Amplitube 2 Live for $19.99 from the above link. They provide a valid serial number (in your Cakewalk account) and I registered that number at the IK Multimedia website. Registering provided me with the download link (in my IK account) for Amplitube 2 Live and X-Gear, and ultimately an email from IK with the additional serial for X-Gear. The authorization process is based on a challenge response (like most IK software) and was immediate through the website.

I was using my old copy of Amplitube 1 and a few freeware alternatives, but they now sound like toys...well worth the $20!

I bought this from audio midi and it works well, just have to register the product with IK Multimedia... For meat and potatoes sound, it works well... I would also suggest Greenmachine Amp, which is free... sounds better in many instances, just doesn't have a compressor, but you can use a compressor with your DAW...

Well, maybe I should clarify...

It's not like some challenge-response situations where you generate an ID code, send it to the company, and then wait forever for a response. IK Multimedia has a system that instantly generates a response code from their website, and I don't think IK Multimedia is going away any time soon.

I have been using their system for many years without fail (always an instant authorization code), and I doubt they would leave their customers hanging if something happened (unlike BitHeadz).

I'm sure it is, JR. I just d/led the demo of Amplitube 3, and it's already become my fave amp-modeler/guitar fx processor, hardware or software! I'm seriously considering dumping all of my hardware modelers (the Vox ToneLab SE, the Adrenalinn III, and the PodXT) in favor of this.

There is nothing I want it to do that it doesn't excel at.

Having said all of that, I'm still budget-minded. So, does anybody know if there's a cheap(er than buying the full version of Amplitube 3) way to upgrade from Amplitube 2 Live to Amplitube 3?
