Apologies!

Wow, that is dang-fast bug fixing! Sleep with a laptop under your pillow?mutools Sat May 22, 2010 4:54 am wrote:Apologies!

Jo, any forecast on when we could be able to target additional Audio Inputs devices in the MUX?

You mean audio outputs?liquidsound wrote:Jo, any forecast on when we could be able to target additional Audio Inputs devices in the MUX?
I.e. a MUX with multiple out?

No...mutools wrote:You mean audio outputs?liquidsound wrote:Jo, any forecast on when we could be able to target additional Audio Inputs devices in the MUX?

I can add Audio Inputs devices as of now but it seems they can not be used.
If additional Audio Inputs inside the MUX could be used as targets I could create sophisticated "Sends Units" templates rather then several Racks (making the mixer more efficient than any DAW) and much more.
Then the MUX would be really a more multidimensional effect unit.
I didn't try additional Audio Output yet. Does it work with those?

MUX still thinks of itself as a rack device, so is stereo in and stereo out...

What about this:liquidsound wrote:No...mutools wrote:You mean audio outputs?liquidsound wrote:Jo, any forecast on when we could be able to target additional Audio Inputs devices in the MUX?

Insert MUX
In deep MUX create some patch points
Hook up whatever you want after those patch points
Now Composer -> Track -> Choose Target => Mux -> Patch Point 1/2/3...
Doesn't that do the trick?

It looks interesting ..do you have a example of a setup session in MUlab?liquidsound wrote:

<EDITED>
What I am trying to do is probably impossible now and may not be even in the future if it's not in your vision.
This is why:
I see "Send to Nothing" device in the MUX and I saw "Audio Input" also (OK I can use a Patch now).
What I would like to happen is this:
I get a MUX and I add as many "Send" as I need. This MUX go into a Slot instead of the regular Send Slot device.
From here, the MUX, I can Send to another MUX's individual "Audio Inputs"
which would process the audio in different ways and then out as one or multiple Audio Outputs.<EDIT>(This is the Main Returns Unit to save CPU but not necessarily )
This can be done already at the expenses of Many Racks and not so practical as a Template.
Mixers have fixed amount of Send and Returns and MU.LAB really doesn't have this limitation and with a MUX capable of Sending and Receiving "Cableless" would be awesome. This would burn the Combinator to ashes.
You the Devil.... yes it does, I always forget the Patch point thing...mutools wrote:What about this:liquidsound wrote:No...mutools wrote:You mean audio outputs?liquidsound wrote:Jo, any forecast on when we could be able to target additional Audio Inputs devices in the MUX?

Not sure if i fully understand but
1) FYI: Indeed it's not possible to directly ("cableless") send from within a rack to within a MUX, and it's not planned either. You can use all available connection features in the MSA or MUX to route signals but if you want to send signals from one module to another you'll have to go thru output->input. The 'cableless' feature of the composer is a privilege of the composer.
2) Question: Would it help that if you click a rack slot and choose a send, that the available send options include all available (relevant) modules instead of the racks only?

I suspected this but since I saw the "Send" and "Audio Inputs" in the MUX and since the MUX has not the ability to grow additional Red/Blue triangles connections I was thinking of the CableLess feature possibility because I can't see the use of those "Send" and "Audio Inputs" for inside a MUX.mutools wrote:Not sure if i fully understand but

This would be superb! We're getting there.mutools wrote:2) Question: Would it help that if you click a rack slot and choose a send, that the available send options include all available (relevant) modules instead of the racks only?
( would I be able to Send to a Patch Point inside a MUX? This would be equal to "Send" to different Slots of a Rack. But to a MUX it's better of course!)

For example: You can setup a complete mixing environment inside a MUX if you want/need that.I was thinking of the CableLess feature possibility because I can't see the use of those "Send" and "Audio Inputs" for inside a MUX.
Will check. This would be superb! We're getting there.![]()

Ah no, it's the same as before: it's not possible to send signals from inside a module directly to a module inside another module; it is possible to get the signal there but you have to route it via output->input. Only the composer (tracks and parts) can target modules directly.( would I be able to Send to a Patch Point inside a MUX? This would be equal to "Send" to different Slots of a Rack. But to a MUX it's better of course!)
