Hello and thanks for a great program!

I only miss one thing:
Support for swedish letters.
If i write "Röjig ståbas" it just spells "Rjig stbas" and that works to, but i would really like to name the tracks and songs and sequences in my native language.
I have been longing to write a song called "Även ett hårlöst bröst kan vara åtråvärt, kärring" and it has so far been impossible.

So my contribution for the wishlist is a wish for the letters Åå Ää Öö.

I hope that is possible.

Thanks again!

Hi,It would be great to have Mulab in other languages too.
Jo if you want a french traductor, i can contribute.
So if u can make a sdk for traductors it 'll be fast to have Mulab in other Languages (i think spain too about Juan Mendoza;)

Well no, it is not a rapsong yet because i dont have the possibilities to name it that :hihi:

The word "hårlöst" is a swedish word for "unhairy" or "hairless" so the song could be a lovesong about me for my wife.
The word bitch does not apply very well on my wife thou...

:hihi:

I'm aware it's an important aspect.

I got some notes on the wishlist about this aspect and i'm confident there will come improvements in the font/text system, as that's what it is about.

But at the same time i also think it's difficult for a small company as MUTOOLS and for a quickly evolving app as MU.LAB to constantly maintain proper language files.

So in the short term MUTOOLS products will stay english only, but at proper times the font/text system will be improved so it allows for many more fonts and it also supports for many more characters. So what jazzdoktorn wrote about should be handled first in this context.

Once we're there we'll see how big the need is to supply MU.LAB also in chinese, french, german, japanese, spanish, ...

Thankyou.
You are awsome!

I don't know how big is the need to translate mulab but i know how many humans talk spanish in the world. Just a few, between 450 and 500 million people :hihi: Only Mandarin Chinese has more speakers.

Anyway i agree that many of the countries that speak spanish are not potential buyers or users of Mulab. On the other hand, the biggest spanish pro audio online comunity ( http://www.hispasonic.com ) has 97.666 registered musicians :o (a half KVR). Also the most important daws in the market have spanish implemented, so if i'd have to choose i'd translate Mulab to Spanish and Chinese mandarin
But at the same time i also think it's difficult for a small company as MUTOOLS and for a quickly evolving app as MU.LAB to constantly maintain proper language files.

Not my bussines, but i see the same problem for getting up to date user skins as well. Maybe with and sdk (as suggested) we could have user translations that should be updated along with mulab, as the skins are now.

I personally undertand english quite well, and enought to talk here and use Mulab but i know so many musicians that doesn't have this hability and that could be more tempted to "cross the line" if they'll have his native language implemented.

Just my thoughts.

I know a good program for music it's Media Center the author supply a language file and this is the users who contribute to traduction.
So if u can provide this sort of sdk language you 'll haven't so much work because we mulab users can contribute and by the way there's not so much words to translate in Mulab.

I really want to have mulab translated, and yes there is not so much texts to translate, but that doesn't mean it's an easy/fast work. One of the problems is the difference between languages, not all the languages express concepts the same way. Spanish and latin languages tend to use much more words to express things that in english are expressed with a single word. E.g. the word "target" is translated as "objetivo" in spanish, but the meaning and use of those two words is slighly different and if i translate mulab to spanish i should have to use a different word or even a combination of words to express what target realy means, using "objetivo" would probably have no sense.

Another difficulty is the longitude of the words, e.g. the word "play" is "reproducir" in spanish or "reproduzzione" in italian (correct me liquid if i'm wrong  ) and in some cases would be very hard to fit concepts in a reasonable width context menu.

Also, the word "bröst" has a double meaning: 'breast' and, as I guess The Jazz Doctor refers to in this case, 'chest', right, J?

The word 'kärring' is often used as something like 'b*tch* but not as strong.
The funny thing though is that the original meaning was quite the opposite: 'dearest' or 'my loved one'.......

Funny things about languages.....

Post

"hårlöst" could be confused with harlot = a prostitute or promiscuous woman.

Is Mulab 4 allowing the letters å ä and ö?
