Wow, what a surprise. Another delay, this time due to a "glitch". RIIIGGHHTTT. If it was really that and could be fixed via software update, then they'd do the right thing and contact the pre-order people, and send the device to those willing to do the update.
I suspect it's more than that. I've gotten a lot of devices; wifi cards (before they were preinstalled), sound cards, software, etc that comes in the box saying "ATTENTION!! Please visit xyz.com to download the latest version to fix a flaw".
It's not a big deal.
That's why I don't think it's a minor bug, and I don't think we'll be seeing this thing for awhile, if at all.
Maruuk, if you're still reading this: what issues in regards to MIDI did you have with your Yammy EZ? Was it something that could be fixed via an app that filters out low velocity ghost notes in a DAW?
If so, I may get one of those for $100 or so off of eBay in the meantime. I really want to try the YRG, but it's looking more and more like vaporware, outside of a couple prototypes.
I'd steer clear of the Yamaha. I've fooled around with one of those and it's very toylike and buggy. I'd much rather deal with a Roland or Axon then that level of grief, in spite of the shortcomings , Just M2Cs
It's really a desperate arena isn't it? (this U rock thing isn't helping either LOL )

Yamaha tracks better then roland stuff. IMHO all pitch to voltage (13pin) is crap compared to sensor stuff.
EZ-EG's/ EZ-AG's are not the holy grail regardless of what type of processing or post processing one doesn.
A Z5 blows them all out of the water.
What's funny about this new alledged bug in the YRG,,, It only came up after they made alledged "New Features" New features that no one asked for.
If there is such a product (which I seriously doubt now)
Here comes the fun part Imagining if this is a real product.
If there is a real product they may have made it so firmware/software updates are not viable via usb. Which would mean they would literally need to print/transfer the os into the drive. This gets back to the fabled sdk III promised many moons ago.
http://www.yourockguitar.com/2009/05/sd ... education/
So that was a freaking year ago. and III has made similar statements about sdk dev since then. But nada has actually come to life.
The expectation was that,,, anyone could produce sample sounds and backing tracks then sell them on III's e-commerce site.
A year later and it's all either a big pipe dream that never came to fruition or a pack of lies from the get go. Would you like to sell loops and sampled sounds on III's ecommerce site? I sure as hell did. But no. No sdk's released just promises of sdk's And now he offers instructions for sumbitting free sounds.
Instead Kevin offers up this bit.

Submit your samples, they coonvert and you get nothing.

I've got a screen shot incase someone backflips and edits the word press post over there.Application SDK Gamers
The You Rock Guitar Software Developer Kit Gamers (SDK) will allow a new generation of music game developers, or those with existing computer and gaming applications, to develop and market their games and programs for the You Rock Guitar platform.
Application SDK Education
The You Rock Guitar Software Developer Kit Education (SDK) will allow a new generation of guitar teachers and music education developers to convert previous work or teaching ideas into products that can be offered on the YouRockGuitar.com web site, much like Apple™ sells songs and movies.

Either they offer tomorrow to ship to the pre-orders with instructions to download the update, or they aren't for real.

Even though I promised I wouldn't open up on them till June. I couldn't wait the day after reading about the software problem.
Obviously they can't be concerned with the customer base. Nor can they be concerned with setting goals and sticking to them. The best anyone can expect is that the company declare bankruptcy and someone with half a brain for business buys the paperwork for less then pennies on the dollar and it resurfaces under a new brand name for a new company a year later.
If it worked for the pocket fisherman it might work for yrg.

I'm a little pissed off at this point. I feel like a fool for following the buzz.
But mostly I feel like a fool for watching those wretched videos.

You are not alone. I was a big supporter of the thing. I wanted it not only for myself but for every guitarist or aspiring guitarist. If only M-Audio picked up the cause we'd prolly be playing M-Audio digital guitars. Sadly M-Audio are followers not leaders.

We do need a guitar controller with a button for each fret that is cheapish.
I just find the one an Aussie guy is developing.
I am kinda hankering after a BabyZ
Hope for solution, nix

Honestly a z5 would be a smarter move into the market. The first time you play with key triggers you wish for strings. It's impossible to strum key triggers.

Surely there must have been a large amount of smoke and mirrorsMRKiammi wrote:hi there, i have to ask

in the photo? Or perhaps its all a 3D rendering? Or a clever photoshop artist
trying to make a name for himself? The little jam played at the Messe
must have been cassettes embedded on the backside out of camera view.
Who will be first to post the doctored photo for digital surgery?
The clock is ticking...

How to post pics
Create a free account at www.Photobucket.com
To post large pics here, they need to be uploaded to the web. A lot of guys here use photobucket.com .
Once you get an account and upload your photos, go into your album and you'll see a bunch of links/codes under your thumbnail. The one you're looking for is "IMG Code" followed by a link (see pic below).

All you do is click on this and you'll see a little box that says "Copied" (see pic).

Now in your message, just hit "Paste" wherever you want your photo to appear (like this)...

Good luck. Look forward to seeing some photos.
