They did indeed get their new website up.

The order page says they're back-ordered.

Anyone who receives a guitar, please post and let us know.

For myself, I gave up on them. I've been watching them since late last year, and watching them slip, and slip - and it's June, and no one has a guitar. That was my deadline.

I'm going to pick up a yamaha ez-ag later this month, and deal with it's issues. On the off chance they do ship working units before then, they still might be able to sell me one if reports say that it works.

Who knows what will happen with Inspired. If they do go belly-up, it's perhaps possible that some of these guitars will either end up on Ebay, or, most likely be bought up by another company (as another pointed out) and sold. You see this last scenario all the time.

I'm hoping if they go belly up that M-Audio or the like will buy their IP and release it as a midi controller. That'd be sweet.

M-Audio wont follow into a failed market. And the ones ruining the market are III

They would do better to keep thier mouths shut hand to the wheel and nose to the grindstone until the product is in the hands of consumers. No one is going to buy the dog ate thier homework. As well there will be a point where resentment grows beyone KVR and enters mainstream. They may not care about us, here. but it will be harder to the general public once the backwash spills into mainstream outlets.

If the uroks are just now leaving China, and they need a fresh PR slpash,
E3 would be a beneficial timing coincidence. There should be a booking log
out there for companies registered to show at E3.
Cheers :)

and all this time I thought this was the center of the universe
If its shipping, and it works, it will sell. Hopefully soon :)

I just got a nice call form Inspired. They said they will ship next week

I guess they are calling everyone, probably just a courtesy call as I don't really have anything to say to them except SHIP THE FREAKIN THING ALREADY :D

polaris: I can play the EZ-EG live through an amp and make a kind of credible blues piano thing work because the internal acoustic piano tone ain't too bad and the EZ plays its internal tones FAR better and cleaner than it can play an external midi device. Once you go external, the EZ outputs different midi channels per each string, a huge hassle, and this is not configurable. Then the hammer-ons/offs that sound kind of convincing on the internal tones are all screwed up for externals. You have to filter out the hammers and stuff or everytime your left fingers depress a string it sounds---noticeably. Tech geeks can break out the midi filters but they get way too complicated for me. I'm selling my EZ-AG, just can't cut it as a midi controller.

Interesting. Sounds like those are problems that can be solved with MidiPipe on my Mac. Might be worth buying one on eBay for $100 to play with.

Still getting the YRG though, if they ever bless us with it.

Hmm,
III states that yrg has either 1~6, or 11~16 or "Poly"

Most of the time I keep a simple setup with my babyZ and set it all to channel 1. I've got no problems with pull offs / hammer ons when I use Guitar or stick setups. There are times when I want and use "ztar" mode which can but shouldn't be used with HO/PO there is no such thing on a piano the most one has is gliss.

On occasion I do a simple split at the tenth fret. It allows me to play melody with the right and harmony with the left.

I think it's that in the EZ, they modulate the velocity correctly for the internal tones such that the hammer-on/offs are suitable and reflect a real guitar. In the midi output when you remove your fingers from say a chord, they sound as if they were hammer-offs so it all sounds crazy.

Yes, you have to use one of the many midi filters to dig in there and turn things on and off, and shift midi channels and it gets into midi codes and ranges and numerical values: a geek's paradise, a layman's hell.

Once I had done all that and found a VST-i that would see all the channels as channel one, it was kinda sorta workable as a crude controller. Just way too much work involved for me.

Thus my fears about the YRG: maybe it sounds pretty good running its internals, but a train wreck with the externals. Two different animals really.

Post

The best part of the EZ was that each fret-button sent out discrete on/off states via sysex, which allowed for the really fun MIDI-manipulation tricks.

I'm hoping the YRG will do the same. Did anyone ever get MIDI implementation documentation? I requested it but never got a response. No surprise there!

I got an email at my old email address saying I had reserved one, and a special link to buy one new. I already paypalled one in January through Inspired though.

If they try to call me, they'll never get through unless they get lucky and I have to free up the line.
