Hello all,
I did a quick search and didn't see this topic, forgive me if it's out there and I'm duplicating threads.
I finally got around to installing FreqAnalyst multi on my new Power Mac (8 core, running 10.6.3) in Pro Tools HD2 (PT 8 ) and it crashes not only PT but sometimes requires the entire Mac to be rebooted. This is ususally upon opening or closing an instance window. I installed it yesterday and used it all day trying to mix a project, but I had to restart PT probably a dozen times.
I did confirm that it's 1.61, which in the release notes, claims to have the crashing issue addressed.
Frustrating, because this is an amazing plug in with incredible capabilities, but when I lose an entire mix I'm working on i'm less than likely to jump in and start using it.
Any help?
thanks
Scott

Hi Scott
I have the same problem on a 64 bit PC using 32 bit Cubase.
It sounds like it might happen a bit more frequently (no pun intended) for you.
Try using Voxengo Span Free, it does pretty much the same job across multiple channels and there's a Mac version.

Thanks Steve,Haven't used Voxengo stuff since I switched to PT on a Mac, but it looks like they are starting to become a little more OSX freindly. I guess no RTAS though eh? I'll have to check it out.
Still, I'm pretty impressed with the capabilities that FAm has. I'm definietly looking at some of the other analysis tools they offer, but I hope they can work out the bugs. Even just yesterday it was extremely helpful, which is why i was patient with it's bugginess.
Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,
thanks for giving a try to our plug-in. It indeed looks like a nasty issue that we haven't caught with our latest release. Do you mind sending us a crash report (if you can get one) to help us find out the problem?
@steve: are you still experiencing issues on Windows? If so, can you give us a bit more details about the problem?
Thank you both for reporting problems.

I absolutely can, but I'm not sure how to get the info you need. Should I email you directly and we can work from there?
Thanks for getting back to me.

You can contact us to our support email address (support [at] bluecataudio.com). To get the crash report, you just need to click on the "report" button when the app crash (if you do not need to reboot the Mac of course...) and copy/paste the info diplayed there.
