just a quick question about uhbik.
I'm more and more tempted to get these but I'm wondering how heavy are those effects on the CPU ?

Mate.. you really don't know/realize how dedicated Urs is, not only to his fantastic creations but also to his user base..Mekanik Zain wrote:I bought the series Uhbik at the beginning.
It's been over a year now that Urs said that the module "X" should be available.
Still nothing in sight.
I think that this is not very correct from Urs. He prefers to lead other projects (like ACE) and eventually earn more money.
Urs is one of the most noble and honorable dev's around, and his fame goes before him for his customer care aswell as for his masterpieces...

These do sound great, but sadly out of my price rage at the moment, cats to feed and litter boxes to fill....

LOL... guys... is good
I have a massive reputation for long term vapourware - just remember those 3 years until Zebra went Windows, and more than 6 years for MFM2 to come up. I guess that's just how it is and it's a side effect of telling people what I'm thinking about.

Me too ... and lot of other people, I think.Believe me, I would have loved for things to be different,
Someone stole your software toolbox ? What is the problem ? It's a fuzzy artistic answer ....but not everything is in ones own hand.
You have developed ACE that is a synthesizer using a modular logic. Uhbik X should not be more difficult than ACE ... It's this aspect that I do not understand ...
And it's a good plan for the late ....However, the lack of Uhbik-X is the reason why Uhbik is still on special.
Do not be angry, I just try to understand why Uhbik X is still not available ....

First I had an infection on my eyes during Spring last year, which made work virtually impossible - more than 3-5 hours wasn't cool. Then I had a few bugs that took months to find, specifically in Uhbik-G. That was solved by August 2009. In the meantime German finance authorities switched my status from annual payments to advance payments, so that 2009 I had to pay taxes for 3 years (2007 as should, the same amount for 2008 as an estimate plus a notably bigger amount for 2009 in advance), which at a 40% rate is about more than I earn in a single year. I thus had to release ACE before Uhbik-X to keep things going. I also released important updates for Uhbik and Zebra, but not Uhbik-X. Then I went on vacation. During vacation my step father became sick. He died a few weeks ago.Mekanik Zain wrote:Someone stole your software toolbox ? What is the problem ? It's a fuzzy artistic answer ....
This is what kept me from finishing Uhbik-X.

Urs,
Sorry to hear the stream of problems you've encountered lately. The one about the estimated tax hit home; I enountered a similar problem last year. Here's my help -- I just bought Uhbik 10 seconds ago!

Urs, as far as I'm concerned, you don't have any explaining to do. Your products deliver, are more than fairly priced, and you keep your customers up-to-date with current developments (and maybe occasionally you whet our appetites a bit too prematurely, but I personally can live with that).
