Hehe, I take it I wasn't the only one who saw Urs talking about a possibly Uhbik compressor in a recent topic and decided that I need it now!ariston wrote:maybe occasionally you whet our appetites a bit too prematurely, but I personally can live with that
The Uhbik bundle already seems like quite a bargain to me, and the possibility of future Uhbiks are just wonderful bonuses.

indeed, Uhbik is already the cheapest luxury effect bundle available: extremly useful.

I am also really sorry to hear of your trials with your tax department Urs. It's another statement on the intrusiveness of modern goverments in general, and if you decided to move to Australia, I can certainly understand why, but it would be Germany's loss, even though I can understand why you wouldn't want to leave too.
Urs, it's obvious that for a lot of the people your products wouldn't be cheap enough if you gave them away! Then they would want you to come over to their place-regardless of where they live!- install them and give them a four hour tutorial. In their generosity, you might get a cup of coffee from them.
Come on people, the whole Uhbik suite of nine effects is cheaper than one effect pedal from a lot of companies! As it is, every effect in Uhbik has at least as many parameter controls as the top effects available, hardware or software, and many features are unique to Uhbik. Uhbik-X will come, but in the meantime you have nine studio quality effects that compare with the best of any effects out there.
Urs has chosen a certain modus operandi for the way in which he is running U-he, all of which I consider admirable and ethical. I, for one, really like that you have chosen to remain a small operation without all of the baggage that inevitably accompanies what happens when companies grow larger. You answer questions posted on KVR in a comprehensive and timely fashion. Each new product is innovative and of high quality answering certain niches in the music field that are clearly wanted as evidenced by the popularity of products such as ACE. As popular as Zebra is, I really can't believe that it isn't far more popular, especially now that Zebrify is part of the package. It's an amazing and unlimited effects package on its own.
I find the term fanboy a little absurd as it insinuates a mindless devotion to something. But if a product has great qualities and is put out by a company that shows loyalty to its customer base with all sorts of future potential being added to those products, is it fanboy? There's a reason U-he products have that devotion: it's well earned.

Y'know, you're actually being exceptionally rude here, and somewhat out of order, IMO. I dont see where Urs owes you anything, so why wouldnt you accept what you're told, and leave it at that.Mekanik Zain wrote:Someone stole your software toolbox ? What is the problem ? Do you feel even a little bit guilty now after Urs' extensive (but actually quite unnecessary reply), and realise that maybe you're just poking your nose into circumstances that in real life are actually none of your damn business?

Arghhhh! I am a huge Uhbik fan. It's a fantastic deal. I bought it practically the same day it came out. And it got better, with Uhbik G, which is my favorite of all. Since Uhbik came out, Zebra was upgraded to 2.5. On top of that, the various patch contests have yielded loads of free, high quality presets for Zebra. I also bought ACE when it came out. It was a steal! No wonder Computer Music Magazine rated it a 10. It's an amazing sounding synth. My pentium i5 handles it with no problem, btw. There's tons of free presets for ACE as well, and if you want to spend a litte money, commercial soundsets for ACE are typically very reasonably priced.Mekanik Zain wrote:Someone stole your software toolbox ? No other vender of VSTs comes close to U-He as far as I can tell, in terms of quality and value of products, and relationship to user base.
So, to make a long story short, I am a very, very, very happy customer of Urs's products. Urs, if you retire today, I'll still consider myself to be way ahead in the game (don't get any ideas though).

Any discussion about future products in no way obligates Urs to create them... Uhbik sells currently with what is included and that is all anyone should count on.

Urs --> I'm really sorry for you. But I should never beleive that you going so deep in explanations ... That wasn't my wish !
For another people --- > I never said that U-He making bad software, it's just the opposite. I believe remember me that Urs meet a big technical problem there is some month. My only goal was got an simple but accurate answer about Uhbik "X" delay ... That's all !
And, of course, have you ever heard of humor and second degree?

My father just past away last Christmas.
I hadn't seen or heard from him in the last 4 years though.
He was a scientist, artist, and musician, and I miss him a lot.

On a positive note and nearly unrelated: Tonite I managed to compile a Mac version of Bazille that has 32 bit AU /w Carbon & Cocoa view, 32 bit VST2 and 64 bit AU inside (64 bit VST2 doesn't exist on Mac). I finally betricksted both Apple and Steinberg, because you normally can't have all of these in a single compile. Now I only need to add text input and drag'n'drop support to my Cocoa view and then we're good to go for beta testing. I celebrated that with a couple of beers ands ouzo at the Greek. *burp*

Hi Urs,
any idea what the Bezille price is going to be?
I'm saving my pennies for Ubik at the moment but I'm planning for the future.
I'm also planning the my next pc build thanks to ACE and Bezille.
Three of the best Synths on earth, imo, are Uhe, CamelAudio, AlgoMusic.
