I just learned that Prosoniq now has a free filter plug in for the Mac that removes the Vuvuzela noise in realtime: http://www.prosoniq.com

This sounds pretty impressive.
However... I'm on a PC right now with no way to use this... maybe there is someone here who would be willing to write a free Windows plug in using their technology? I'm pretty sure they would be interested... it would get them a lot of exposure I guess...

It won't be a simple port of the Prosoniq plugin, since that one is based on sonicWORX Isolate, which is tied to the Mac OS/X platform.tahome wrote:However... One would think that they could & SHOULD have written a Windows version of this plug-in, too, at "full speed ahead, cap'n" for exactly that reason: better exposure!tahome wrote:However... Goodness, I HATE that sound. And has anyone looked up the vuvuzela? The decibel levels are insane; we're talking MAJOR hearing damage for anyone in its immediate proximity. (Now just imagine a whole bunch of 'em being blasted around you - NONSTOP!)
I hope they're wearing earplugs at these matches -- idiots....

From what I know from coding myself as a hobbyist the DSP stuff is never platform specific. Also, the Prosoniq press release talks about the technology being available for both Win and Mac.

Sadly, even the best postpro filter in the world won't put players into a position to communicate with each other verbally on the field or enable fans in the arena sing complex songs. As long as these horns are blown the sport suffers.
