But of course - and I even have that somewhere :dog:

I will have a brief look at VST3 though before I start on that. It might be easy, but it also might be a nightmare. I need to make sure it isn't latter before I promise anything.

(That said, there is no plugin host on Mac yet that is 64 bit and doesn't support AU, right? - so unless there's a 64 bit Cubase/Nuendo everyone would be fine with 64 bit AU on Mac?!?)

I think thats right yes..i will drop a mail in steinberg forums ..see what the response will be like..

ok, here is the response..

LOLz - like the bit about eternity ("Eternity" is also what my wedding ring says, as in, Arthur Stace)

On a positive note: I'm almost done with ACE/Zebra/Uhbik 64 on Win, too. There is a really good chance I'll post these tomorrow (not quite an eternity away anymore) 8)

iirc logic 9.1.1 is a 64bit au host. my mate got the fabfilter bundle (64 bit)
and these are the only ones (besides apple plugs) that show up native, without the 32bit bridge/wrapper.

EDIT: sorry, i should read before posting. thank you for your hard work.

Logic 9.2 is 64 bit.

The issue was however if VST3 support was needed for 64 bit on Mac at this time, which actually isn't the case because there's no 64 bit VST3-only host on Mac. All current 64 bit hosts on Mac that support VST3 also support AU :)

There are quite a few others. Some Spectrasonics, some NI, some Sugar-Bytes, some Blue Cat, PSP, Expert Sleepers and very, very soon about all u-he.

Gave a quick run through of 64 bit versions of ACE, Zebra, Uhbik, and Bazille 03 using 64 bit Reaper on Windows 7 x64 and have had no problems. Everything that I tried worked as expected. Not a torture test or anything, just some basic music making. Looks good so far. :)

Wow,

haven't expected that you'd be that fast, Urs !
Going to check ACE and Uhbik now.
And since you're going 64bit now I'll also demo the 2.5 version
of Zebra.

Btw, why is the file size of zebra,ZRev and Zebralette identical ?

They're the very same file, just different names. The plugin checks which name it has and then decides to pose as either Zebra, Zebralette, Zebrify or ZRev. Same with Uhbiks.

Other plugin formats (AU, VST3, RTAS) have a clearly defined "shell" functionality so that a single plugin can act as many different ones. In VST2 there's something similar, but a certain company watered that down to an unusable technique.

Ok, one first problem:

the plugins don't show up here inside Cubase x64 at all.
Could it be (again) the infamous msvcr71.dll, which I have under SysWOW64 for
32 bit applications, but which I don't have in the System32 folder
(which is actually for 64 bit applications) ?
I've got a pretty clean Windows Installation (just for Audio), so that's why
it's missing here.

Is there such a thing as a 64 bit version of this dll-file ?

Cubase 5 x64 on Windows 7 64bit here and all is good apart from Bazille which crashes Cubase right away.

Cubase 5 x64 Windows7 x64Ultimate

Zebra running great so far and no crashes. 3 Instances of zebra running as vst and efx with dozen or so other plugs.

Looking good...fantastic news, expecially as Zebra was bombing out for me with jBridge.

Big Thank you.

Nope... the build settings are mostly identical to the 32-bit builds. No weird library dependency stuff afaik... I can check tomorrow though.

Woah... weird. Does the 32-bit version crash on you too?

Hm...

Ok, just an additional info on my system:
running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
with the Service Pack 1 installed.

Cheers
